Kai's POV
I had to look away before I growled and drew attention to myself. Some girl from Kurama's fan group was hanging off his arm. Doesn't she realize that he doesn't want her? Not only that but it's spring and Tsuki knows that Kurama is Yoko.
As Kurama and the fan girl started to pass he stopped... right in front of the lunch table I was sitting at. The girl looked at me, studying me, wondering what Kurama wanted from me, no doubt. “Hello Kai, are you eating alone today?” Kurama asked politely.
She shook her head, “No, my sister should be here soon.” Her eyes scanned the lunch room for her sister. “Oh, how is she? She hasn't been in school lately.” Kurama said knowing who she was talking about.
Just then her sister came into view. “She's doing much better. A lot has happened lately that's all.” Kai said watching her sister. “Sounds like you two are close.” The fan girl said with a squeaky voice and Kai just nodded.
“Hey, sorry to make you wait so long.” Kai's sister said sitting down. “Don;t worry about it Marie.” Kai said smiling at her. Marie ignored Kurama and the girl and just started talking to Kai. “Sissy, are we going to see Mama tonight?” Marie asked.
Kai felt a little uncomfortable talking about their mother in front of others. Kai let out a sad smile, “Yes, we are.” Kurama smiled at Marie, “It's good to see you back in school. Everyone has missed you.”
Marie gave him a big smile, “Yea it's good to be back. Sissy, here, helped me recover realllly fast because she didn't want to miss school.” Kai sighed and shook her head wondering why she said to say that. “Marie, you know how I feel when someone I care for is sick.” Kai said kinda embarrassed.
“Do you mind if I sit with you two?” Kurama asked. Kai then realized that he and the girl had been standing there the whole time. “Oh, yes, please sit.” Kai said motioning to the sits in front of her. The fan girl that was with Kurama blew him a kiss and walked away.
Marie grinned when she saw that Kai was shifting uncomfortably. 'DANG IT! Why did I have to tell him he could sit here?' Kai screamed in her mind. Tsuki groaned at the smell of Kurama. Kai just wanted to beat the crap out of Tsuki right now.
After school Kai and Marie went home to change and headed to the portals. Unfortunately, Kurama was curious as to where they were going and followed. When he realized that were heading to the portals he slowed a little.
'What are they doing coming here? They're lucky I'm the only one following them. It could be dangerous if someone else decide to follow.' He thought watching them cross through the portal.
Once in Makai Kai turned to Marie, “Alright, this time stay with me. We don't need you to be taken away again.” Marie took Kai's hand as if to say that she agreed. Kurama was shocked. Marie was really taken from a demon, that's why she wasn't in school and that Kai would hardly show up.
Kai and Marie took up at a fast speed heading deep into the nearby forest. Kurama had to change into his fox form to keep up with them, well at a safe distance. He noticed that they never seemed to slowdown until they reached the other side of the forest.
Kurama then understood what Marie meant by 'seeing her mom'. They were at a cemetery. From the look of it Kurama figured that they came often to clean it up. Marie walked over to one of the graves and knelt in front of it.
Engraved on the stone was a language that was unfamiliar to Kurama. He knew about other languages in Makai but had never meant anyone who knew one of them. He then took a closer look at what the sisters were wearing.
Kai had on a priestess outfit and Marie had on an outfit that looked similar to her sisters. “Marie, let mother know that you are still being taken care of. I bet she was worried when she knew you were missing.” Kai said.
Kai then turned and walked into the forest a bit. “Alright, I know that you are there, come out.” She said staring in the direction Kurama was. 'She's good.' Kurama thought turning into his human form and coming out.
Kai just about had a heart attack, “Wha... what are you doing here?” She was at a lost on what to do now. He now knew her secret. “I'm sorry, I followed you here. Something you said earlier made me worried.” Kurama said and bowed.
Kai stood there stunned, 'He followed us? That doesn't seem right for him. I know Yoko would but not Shuichi.' Kurama saw her shocked look and bowed again, “Really, I am sorry. I guess it's best I leave.”
Kai reached for him and shouted, “NO!” This made Kurama stop and look back at her. “It's not safe for you to walk around here alone. The people of this village would kill you in an instant.” Kai said. Kurama agreed to stay and leave with them. He would just have to tell his mom that there was a last minute meeting at the school that he had to attend.
On their way back they were attacked by the people of the village just as Kai had said. When the villagers realized who it was they quickly ran off fearing for their lives. Kai and Kurama were both worried that they were going to found out by the other.
Marie found it funny and entertaining though. The whole way back through the forest Kai and Kurama barely looked at each other. Once back at the portal Kurama turned to Kai.
“Again I'm sorry for following you like that. It wasn't right to do. Though it was nice to get to know you better.” Kurama said. Kai blushed, “Sorry you were attacked because of us. I'll just have to be more careful next time.”
Kurama smiled, “Let me know and I'll come again with you again.” Kai could only nod as she blushed more. Marie smiled, “Until next time.” Kurama nodded and he was gone through the portal.

That's it! *cries*  You could do sooo much with this! There was no love scene niether! *mores tears* Oh well. It was really good though. I really enjoyed it.
