After my year and some change of watching anime, here is some of the things I've learned about the mysterious things called love and romance:
1. As long as I'm very nice to them, a gang of women will fall in love with me regardless of other flaws (perversion, arrogance, stupidity, etc.).
2. If a ton of women are after me, I can string them along for an undetermined period of time, but it's fine because they'll wait. My indecisiveness must really be turn on.
3. If women are after me, I will be clueless to the fact that they like me, regardless of have many clues they constantly throw in my face.
4. If I have a childhood friend who treats me like crap, she likes me but can only tell me by subtle, violent hits...hints! I meant hints.
5. Regardless if it's my fault or not, a girl I accidentally see naked that has feelings for me will more than likely punch/kick/throw me into the land of immense pain and for no reason am I allowed to defend myself or mention they invented things called locks. That would be ungentlemanly.
6. If I'm alone with a girl who likes me/vice versa/both, DO NOT TRIP AND FALL because the line "It's not what it looks like" never seems to work on those that choose that exact second to walk into the room.
7. If I have a stepsister, we both obviously like each other more than a brother and sister should. It will be fine though, since we're not BLOOD related.
8. If a naked woman comes onto me, something is immediately wrong and I must talk her out of such nonsense. A woman can never be assertive in wanting sex; it defies all logic.
9. If I made a promise of marriage to a girl when I was little, she will undoubtedly met me again and look to cash in on said promise while I would have completely forgotten it. She probably also expects me to keeping my promise of becoming Superman as well.
10. If the person I like cheers me on or vice verse, I/she will get the strength to finish my/her task victoriously, whether that be a sporting event or beating the crap out of someone after being being beaten so badly that I/she had trouble moving before. Love truly does conquer all.

Saiunkoku Monogatari is the complex romance that taught me what romance is, I learned from it (12 or 13 at the time) what a cheater is, and what a hero will do in face of great danger to save the girl they love. Oh and not to judge a person by their looks but by their heart and passions.

School Days- Cheat, and you'll get stabbed to death, and then your bloody corpse will get decapitated for your former girlfriend's "enjoyment".

Er... nothing?
The only lesson anime has taught me is that... real life romance doesn't work like in stories.
It's way more surprising in real life... you have issues like sex (which is rarely addressed in shoujo animes), money, time etc.

Bokura Ga Ita.
It shows that love can wait, despite of all the consequences.

Nothing really... but real life has taught me sometimes anime-like relationships really do exist.

The World God Only Knows taught me that if I try to woo a girl, all I need is to follow a set path of events, just like an eroge, and I will eventually score.
