The NecoMimi, a remote controlled pair of cat ears, allows the human brain alone to manipulate an object that's completely foreign from the human body, in a biological sense.

What if they took that a step further and artificial bodies made of flesh and bone were created, but designed with the ability to receive signals from our original bodies? What if it was possible to take all 5 of your senses - sight, touch, taste, smell, and hearing - and temporarily transfer them into a new host for potentially indefinite periods of time with few to no side-effects?

TL;TR Version:

If it were actually possible to be any creature you wanted to be, what different kinds of things would you choose to "mind transfer into", in other words, even if only temporarily?

These would be my personal choices ..

1.) I'm gonna suggest a crow as the first thing I'd pick. Get a good handle on soaring through the heavens and eating carrion. I bet it tastes delicious for crows. I could caw at people I don't like and they'd never be any the wiser, as well .. fools!

2.) A crab. I gotta know why they foam at the mouth. It'd also be awesome to walk sideways underwater and attack bikini clad women's toes. Sounds like a good pass-time, actually ..

3.) A cat. Nothing like balancing on fences and purring up against random objects and/or people to let people know who's boss. Being able to talk as a cat would be an added bonus.

4.) A woman's body. It'd be hilarious in and of itself .. for so many reasons. But if they refined this kind of tech enough that you felt the emotions of the opposite sex as well, it would probably be a life-changing learning experience as well, I'd think.

These are just some examples. Feel free to explain your reasoning as well, if you so desire! I'm aware there are more than a few loopholes or problems with this concept, but try to assume they've been worked out by the wonderfully sophisticated technology of the space-future.

Have fun using your imagination!

I would die. If I could mind transfer into other things my original body would die because I'd never go back.

I would so transfer my mind into a robot, i mean, why not? If you are a spiritual person your soul would just carry on whilst the 'copy' you would live on. I think its awesome, a gift to my mind if you will.

So you turn into Pain.

I'd transfer emotional experiences from:
-A psychopath murderer
-A robot
-A dragonfly
-A spider
-A woman

Yeah, that whole "temporarily" thing is a bit of a problem. I'd just become a ghost of the net, diving into and out of other people's bodies at will. So, basically I'd be a possessor, or you could call me Ai, God, Guardian, Imaginary Friend, etc.

Dig out a Philosophy book or risk it and access Wiki re mono-ism and dual-ism. One belief is mind and body are separate entities, the other suggests both are intertwined.

Does it need to be a robot? We're not far from creating this technology with simulators and video games. Won't be long before the brain can control a character in the digital universe. And have all five senses be active.

I guess I'd want to try being a Cat or a Wolf. That could be cool. I wouldn't mind flying either. The Humming Bird life looks fun. Zipping around everywhere. But if it's a robot, I'd probably pass. Sounds expensive. Even if I was rich, I'm not sure it's something I'd want. Or want to see wandering the neighborhood.

Like one post mentioned, some random dude might show up and kill me. Then that person simply log's out of the robot avatar. Not gonna lie, that's pretty messed up. No, I don't think people need real life robot avatars. Except maybe the bomb squad and doctors who can use that technology for the right reasons. I guess, I just see more cons to this tech then pros.

if that stuff is made, it would totally be used for space travel or in the military

That would be so Awesome.
