Lock if dup. I really don't wanna look.

So are you guys cat people or dog people?
I personally love cats more, but dogs are really amazing too.

I mean how can you not love this cuteness?

cats are cute but they contribute nothing to society. you try to pet them and they're all "what the fuck, no." so dogs, obviously dogs. they just want to be your pal

That depends on the cat. I had a cat a long time ago and I inadvertently "trained" mine to love sleeping on laps, especially during the winter months. (I did not know at the time, but you can warm cats to the idea of being petted/sitting on a person's lap. When mine was a kitten, I would put him on a lap and pet him as a "reward." He didn't like it at first, but over time he started jumping onto laps on his own). Mine was a bit cautious around new people, but once he got used to you, he didn't mind being petted--to a point. He liked "quieter" people more than "noisy" people.

Or maybe my cat was just weird. Whatever the case, my cat liked being petted--and vacuumed with the hand-held types.

As to the original question, I prefer cats, but I have no problem with dogs. Both have their good points and bad points.

Cats are a bit lower maintenance than dogs, so I go with cats.
I always wanted a dog when I was a kid but we'd never get one . . . and now days I see people with big dogs living in apartments and think it's reprehensibly cruel. One gal that lives across the parking lot has a Great Dane in her one bedroom apartment, it's just sad.

Cats require too much domesticating to become fun. Not to mention that they're pretty much the creatures that embody PMS.

Dogs are natural best friends. I can't think of a pet that would fulfil my daily life more than a smart dog.
