I have been to NY once, and lets just say i won't be going back any time soon. Honestly one of the worst places i've been to. Nothing special about it IMO.

My mom wants to move to the city or maybe Hoboken once my sister graduates HS. My brother has also expressed his interest in moving into the city. As a downstate NYer (who lives relatively close to the city) I know I would hate to do that; I would rather move somewhere else, maybe the West Coast or something. NYC culture is just generally really stressful. It's not my cup of tea, hah. Very dirty and crowded, so I can agree with the person who started the topic...

i thought about going to new york before but not long after that my interest went down very fast, not many places in the U.S that i want to visit, but there are alot of places overseas i really want to visit, japan being number 1 of course.

I've been to NYC and it was cool! All sorts of stuff to buy there! And so many police sirens! Oh yeah and forgot the guy that flicked me off even though he cut in front of me at a red light!

Never again. Once was enough for me. Perhaps one too many.

I have lived in Manhattan my whole life and I must say it is a bit romanticized, but I love it. I do think Tokyo looks cooler though...

I wouldnt say its romantifized , people are just not used to living in the city and people who are used to it are just bored of it.

I just laughed hard when my friend told me a story of NYC where he was walking and a biker ran into him, then just kept on going, and in the same day the bus they were on hit something... I live in NY but haven't been to the city.
