The World Masterpiece Theater titles that have been licensed to America and various anime released/not officially released in America in the 80s to early 90s. I think the 2001 version of Cyborg 009 that Sony only released 8 episodes of on DVD is not as a niche market as that.

How does one go about bringing enough fandom to certain titles during this time span to get them released or re-released on DVD?
(For those looking, http://www.amazon.com/gp/pdp/profile/A28J2AO598RHLS has 3 lists of nearly 100 obscure anime titles/ on Amazon. Obviously, because the 2 most recent are nearly 7 years old, the availability has greatly changed).

Here it is fans: http://www.amazon.com/Panda-Magic-Serpent-Slim-Case/dp/B0007Z2KEC/ref=cm_syf_dtl_pl_1. This is what is regarded as the first modern anime and was released in Oct. 1958 and became the first anime to reach America in March 1961.

There's not much one single fan can do on their own to get an older show released.

If there wasn't enough of a market then to keep something in production then they're sure as hell not likely to take a chance on trying to produce again in this 'time span'.

There are even plenty of recent shows that will never be brought to the US because the producers cannot see a viable way to recoup any of their investment.

Try to bring a whole lot of attention to it, spam it everywhere, build up a fandom, and try to get it fansubbed/translated somehow.

You guys, there's this manga called Kyuukyoku Choujin R....

KleinerSkollexxx, are you suggesting I essentially troll various anime forums about certain titles from this era to get people's attention?
