Who actually reads the forums they reply to?

Most of the time, I skim the first page of the whatever General, Anime or Manga forum to post my own reply. My forum post ends up on page 23, and all the content in-between is ignored. Most of the replies I respond to are usually on the first page, or on the page that my reply ends up being on. I was just wondering if there were people who willingly read all the forum pages to see what everyone has to say.

I skim a lot, skip the big box retorts if it's the same ppl responding. If it's a weighty topic that should've been over in Extended Discussions instead I may read it, then again I may not. Not because the poster is ignorant or anything like that. At my stage in life at lot of these concerns just don't carry the interest they might have 20-30 years ago so I move onward to the next reasonably sized tome. It is interesting though to see the same life issues surface that were perplexing 10, 20, 30 , even 40 years ago.

A lot of people just post Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide idotic side conversation stuff that isn't really worth reading, unfortunately, so I don't invest too much time. Any longer, and I'll just look at the most recent 2 or 3 pages. If it's old, I don't respond to anyone on the first page, since they probably don't care about the thread anymore.

Also, my method is usually to read the entire first page and the entire final page of replies when I come upon a new thread. If it's a relatively new thread like this one, that's no problem. I generally don't bother to read any of the other responses in between. Generally, the responses on the final pages are an evolution of the earlier pages. If I reach the last page and there's only a handful of responses, I'll go back a page to read those responses. Then I'll formulate my own response based on the topic.
