Adobe Flash Update 11.3 Issues
|
There are several other weird glitches I've noticed on the site. These problems aren't restricted to this site alone, but I thought it would be good to point out how bad Adobe Flash messed up again!
1.) For starters, videos just don't load. Nothing but a blank screen awaits me when I try to watch a video. The black screen the video normally plays in will flash briefly before vanishing. 2.) When the page is refreshed under any circumstances, the window is automatically "deselected". As in, I need to actually click on the window or scroll bar before my scroll wheel will work again. Every time. Odd. 3.) The advertisements that would normally be on the main page are mysteriously absent. The borders where they normally would be also obstruct the drop down menus, as well. Anyone else experiencing these errors? EDIT: I already reverted back to 11.2. I'm sorry I didn't mention that. Everything still works fine in 11.2, but I assume there are probably a couple of security issues involved. 2ND EDIT: I found what was causing the issue for me, and can hardly believe it. It was RealPlayer. "If RealPlayer is installed, try this first Turn off Web Download & Recording in RealPlayer Launch RealPlayer Click the RealPlayer icon in the upper left corner of the window and choose Preferences. Choose Download & Recording from the left hand panel Uncheck "Enable Web Download & Recording for these installed browsers" Click OK and close RealPlayer Restart Firefox " Now it works fine! Time to uninstall RealPlayer entirely, now that it's fixed. Useless friggen' .. Found this troubleshooting at the following link, for anyone who's interested: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-doesnt-load-video-firefox |

The last update is broken or something. I was having the same issues even with YouTube. So I went and downloaded the previous version.

Anyone else experiencing these errors? Wow... there are some new ones here that I haven't encountered yet. Yeah, basically I've been giving people the same advice as when Flash 11.2 released and there were issues. Apologies for any inconvenience. Copy / Paste You can try rolling back to Flash 11.1 to resolve some of the issues that you are experiencing. http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html First run the uninstaller, then install the version of flash you wish to have on your PC. Hopefully this will help clear up some of these issues! |

What is weird is that I came to post in another thread from a while back where I was having performance issues (dropped frames on panning scenes) with an update that the latest Flash 11.3 update fixed my problems. The HD streams now play smoothly on scenes where there is a horizontal/vertical/zoom pan.
The only problem that I have run into is Flash will sometimes crash on the HBO GO website (Watching Game of Thrones), but so far no errors on CR and I am glad the video playback is smoother now. (I think the update mentioned something about improved hardware acceleration which may be what fixed the performance issue) |

Also YAY Game of Thrones! |

11.3 still drops frames.
11.3.300.262 seems to straight up crash with Aero disabled once I fullscreen something. I uninstalled it so fast I never tested it with it enabled. 10.3 4 lyfe~ I can't help but remember posting about terrible scene timing a while ago and it still doesn't seem to be much better... I wonder what ever happened to that. |
