Was just wondering how many here have played Tera... decided to make a thread since i haven't found any related to this. This games graphics are superb and the gameplay is just kickass! If you play on Basilick Craig let me know or Feral Forest/Valley. ^__^

I played TERA on Frost Reach and various servers during Beta. I have friends who play on the PvP servers, but we've all quit. I find the game to be really fun up until around level 20, after which you realize every single monster sprite is shameless recycled, and the progression is extremely linear. There is very little content and the political system, in my opinion, serves to reward people who zerg recruit over quality guilds/players.

I find the skill cap to be very low in TERA, and the game is not grindy until the later levels where it suddenly becomes extremely grindy. While 90% of MMOs are grind-heavy, I find TERA's sudden change in this to be distasteful. It should follow a more natural curve.

The graphics and score (soundtrack) are fairly good. However, games released earlier have already had better soundtracks and graphics (take FFXIV for example) so while this part of TERA is definitely a plus, it is not anything ground-breaking.

The battle system is also far inferior to Vindictus. It is not a true action oriented game like the marketing claims.

I wish I could have got a refund, but unfortunately it was too late for me. It's saddening to see that the servers have barely grown since beta. From what I hear, PvP is also not very well made in TERA and is the reason why most of my friends who played on PvP servers have moved onto other games.

I don't know what I can say for TERA overall. It was really cool at the beginning, but its appeal very quickly wore off and then I felt like I had wasted my money. I played lots of Ragnarok Online, FFXI and MMOs like those, where I felt a honest sense of achievement upon obtaining something. In TERA, I have never been able to reward myself with this feeling.

I hope others have had a better experience than me!

I personally have loved Tera. I've been playing WoW for way too many years (I don't even know how long anymore.. 6+ years? I think) so I got kind of bored of it finally (as much as I love Blizzard). The format of this game was a refreshing change, such as the battle system. I love the character and world designs too. Can't wait to cosplay as a Castanic!

...... You got to level 20... and think you can judge the game. The mmo is still new and it probably will get better with time. How could you say vindictus has better combat..... then tera.... The pvp is really good in tera at end level... Definitely something you can't judge from level 20.... Don't worry everyone else who probably got past level 20.... Probably got more out of it then you.... You didn't even get to do a decent dungeon instance .....

I was lv60. You made an assumption out of your post and made an ass out of you and me.

Well done, /slowclap.

Also, TERA markets itself as "true action MMO." I don't know if you've played Vindictus, but you had a lot more freedom in the battle system there, and Scythe Evie was plain badass.

PvP is really good? lol. Have you seen a skill-based MMO where you customize your character and build every aspect about them like Ragnarok? Yeah, that's where PvP is at. Have you seen Diablo 2? Another good example, albeit not being a MMO. Oh wait, I get to customize glyphs, omgawds no!!!!1111111 best pvp111!111

Most of my friends and people I've talked with are of the same opinion about TERA. Some people love it, some people hate it. We all hit endgame, we were all lv55-60, what do you think you're talking about? I didn't even do a decent dungeon? hahaha, oh yeah, only beat the entire game.

Go troll elsewhere.

The pvp for a 3d mmo not being target select and everything being done in real time it's probably the best gameplay in terms of 3d mmo's. And yeah i do know about ragnarok i'v only played it for about 6-7 years. Tera is lacking content not going to lie and i'm no troll. It just seems like you were bashing the game saying vindictus has better combat but i guess thats your opinion.

I'm bashing the game? I also pointed out where the game had good parts, if you were too blind to read that, that is not my problem. This is called constructive evaluation.

Seems like to me you're just another mad fanboy.

I'm playing Tera, on SI. It's a pretty game, but the content is meh. Fun combat, but not much better than Dragon Nest or Vindictus sadly.
I'd say PSO2 will be my action mmo of choice.

<--- On Tera, Celestial Hills. I Don't play often but there are a few ppl i've met through a now ruined guild i still say hi to. Also love how similar it is to the currently airing Sword Art Online.

I played up to above level 40. I couldn't really keep going. I cannot stand grinding in games. Sad to say but I like that WoW gives you the option of dungeons, quests or battle grounds. I got sick and tired of going to a town, pick up all the quests, go do them, move up to next town. The dungeons were fun but it feels almost like a group of people are just mashing attacks on one big enemy. maybe I didn't get far enough but I felt that there should have been some mechanics to the fights. I know they're adding in some kinda battle ground system in a patch but I don't think I'll be coming back to the game. Until it goes free to play that is.

If you've actually played the game and did the dungeons then there's a very high skill cap because sadly only about 50 people in NA have been able to kill the final boss. Sucks you never even tried the 2nd hardest boss because you didn't do your research

Wow... i played TERA when it first came out a while back.. got a sorc up to level 60, but quit soon after b/c the PVP was totally messed up and unbalanced. Also the level grind was a huge pain in the ass, esp the last few levels. Some good points, though was that the graphics were great, and I would bet if ppl kept subscribing the devs would eventually balance PVP.

From what i remembered, if i could get a good fire blast crit, i won, if i couldn't i was screwed. Sorcerer was a pretty fun class to play, but lack of battlegrounds or anything other than random world PvP made me quit TERA and go back to WoW
