I know a couple people that have recommended me to play TERA..

and Im thinking of playing it sometime during the holidays or so. I just am not the type to get sucked into an MMO and continuously play for hours on end. I've seen the graphics+characters & they all look very detailed . The only thing i dislike is the boredom i get out of grinding in MMOs. its a tedious thing sometimes lol . Im willing to give this one a shot though to see if its really as interesting as some people say.

ohh Tera, i remember playing my Mystic on that game. The game was really fun when i started playing, but after a couple of months, i just lost interest in the game. I do agree with the mobs being recycled everywhere. I dont really remember where, but i do remember around the 30s out of nowhere i just felt like nothing was new. I was just grinding the same mobs, and started to lose interest in the quests as well. That had never happened to me in an MMO until near level capping,. I did really enjoy the combat system though. Healing was far more interesting than in other games, due to the sticky targetting and what not. It atleast kept me entertained. The game was definitely far more active than i am used to, had quite a bit of fun playing it, but after a while, i just stopped playing, started playing other games, doing other stuff and quite frankly, completely forgot about it for so long, that I decided keeping the subscription was just silly.

I didnt really like the politics system either, kept waiting and waiting for guild housing to make the game a little more interesting, but it never happened. Player base friendliness, and general attitude was quite friendly, which is quite surprising for an MMO now a days. PVP wise is not someithng i really look for in MMO games. EvE is the only MMO i know of that has a PvP system that is based more on skill and knowledge of how your ship mechanics and equipment. Most MMOs now a days are always playing with the whole PvP balance, which turns to be rather annoying.

I've played tera for around 3 days all together (got busy and stopped playing for a week), and so far, it's alright. Playing as a level 14 elin archer, so far, the game is quite easy. All I have to do is walk backward while shooting and when the monster gets close, you just use a close range hit and jump back. I like the graphics of the game, but with this being my first mmorpg, my computer isn't a gaming laptop at all and can barely handle the graphics.

I'm on the server Lake of Tears (PVP) if anyone ever wants to play. I'm totally newby right now because classes have been hectic, so no time. Any friends on there would be good. MMO's are always best with others.

How fun is Tera to you guys? I've seen trailers and gameplay videos, but I don't know. I'm debating whether or not I should install and play it.

It's easy in the beginning but when you get to around the level 20 area it gets more challenging. I think it's fun if that counts xD

It is like World of Warcraft, but more enhanced. The game has a ton of bugs, mostly out of the map bugs, and other kinds. If you like wow, you will like tera. But, if you like games like Elder Scrolls Online, gw2, or final fantasy onlline, a realm reborn. Then do not get it, period. it might be free, and might have some nice things, like switching out your left and right click mouse buttons. But, it is not worth the punishment.

Um, I've been playing for a while and have not seen any of those said bugs... Yeah, there is really no punishment that you speak of. The biggest punishment you actually mentioned is people liking gw2.

Okay, so you decided to climb a mountain and run around and that is bad because? It didn't break the game did it, you didn't get teleported there. You did it yourself. I guess you just have to really look for them bugs.

I've played it off and on. Its combat system is top notch: unlike wow's hotkey button mashing, you actually have to dodge enemy attacks and aim your own. You can get away with standing still and spamming during solo missions, but try that in instances and you'll get creamed.

It's even fun being a healer (my main is a priest). You have to maneuver around the battlefield, eyeball the right distance to aim some heal spells and try to lock on to your allies who are bouncing back and forth with others. You also have to be able to do heals without getting too much aggro!

I can only think of one con for this game, but it's a big con: it has the dullest story and quest lines I have ever seen. No characters are memorable, there is nothing that makes you care about one person or one city or another. In WoW, I loved walking around Stormwind, I felt for the farmers in Westfall, there were so many people and places I cared about. Now, I can't even recall a single NPC or place name from memory when it comes to TERA.

Everything else is oh so enjoyable, but the story (or lack thereof) really kills it for me.
