People are mean because it is beyond their control to feel something other than what they're feeling when they feel it.

All of our emotions are unconscious and unconsciously motivated. Furthermore all of our emotions are accompanied by a flood of glandular chemicals, so by the time you notice how angry you are, you've already been dosed and your heart is already racing. At that point your higher brain functions begin to submit to the cerebral process of rationalization, where your neocortex matches up cognitive thoughts with the overwhelming emotional urges your brain and body are experiencing. So the order goes: first we experience and respond chemically to various stimuli, then we begin to come up with reasons for why we feel the way we do in that given moment. It's the same with every emotion, passion and desire. The larger the stimulus, the larger the chemical dose delivered by our glands and the more incentives and justifications get thought up to rationalize acting on it.

They are very mean and i am forever a loner

I think it's psychological from the very start, could be some genetics who really knows. They even say some astrological signs are "meaner" than others lol. Some people just cannot wait to start fights and call names if someone doesn't agree with them (I know this ALL too well), and will forever hate them for one reason only. The hardest thing in the world is fighting your own feelings, so it is easier for one to admit they are right than admit they are wrong. But it's the extreme cases of people hating on others that bother me. I think it's attention that they want, and are somehow lacking that in their current lives. They want to make others hurt, to know what their pain feels like. I try to go out of my way to be nice to someone even if we are disagreeing because I don't know their stories. I think if more people tried to think the way I do, we wouldn't have so many horrible fights that end up in worse consequences.

Because without mean people you wouldn't be able to correctly value the nice ones

I believe there's many reasons why people are mean, they could be having a bad day and taking it out on others or they have been screwed in the past and have not gotten passed it. It could be a misunderstanding and the person wasn't intentionally trying to be mean. I don't know there's plenty of reasons you just have to be able to know the person to understand why.

Maybe they have underlying issues that cause them to be mean. I don't think there's a person who can be mean ALL the time for no reason. Not that I like being b*tched at, but I try to think about why the other person is what he/she is.

That's how people show their love. Well, in my case, that's how I show it.
