The one downside I have with it though is the anime kinda moves at a fast pace. Anyone else get the feeling that the episodes don't really connect with each other and that each episode is a mini story by itself?

The previous few episodes were side stories. From what I've been reading and comments from others, the main storyline hasn't begun yet but will soon.

The current arc is also a side story/arc I believe.

Ahhh! That makes more sense now. It's kinda odd to start off a serious with side stories though but now I can't wait until the main story line begins if the side ones are already so nicely done.

is episode 5 an original story or was it written in one of the SOA books? cause i dont remember this one from reading v1

I believe it is from Volume 8 of the Light Novels and is called "A Murder Case in the Area".
Baka-Tsuki.org has all the translated light novel volumes. Get to Volume 7 and bring a box of tissues. I cried for three chapters straight...

No

Episode 6

A short arc concludes.

The episode details the aftermath of last week's murder case as they seek out the mysterious Pker and the moral of why "he" pked others in the safe zone.

Some great Asuna x Kirito moments this episode

So, it says Episode 6 will be available in 6 days 15 hours from now. Is this just me?

Edit: NM, I found another post explaining why it is delayed a week on Crunchyroll

I love this episode even though there was a shaky execution in the latter half. This was due to the fact two facts discussed in the spoiler tag.

I think SAO's strength compared to Accel World is the amount of world building and character depth that Kawahara-sensei reveals. The side characters had good use of their screen time. And it's about time, we have those Kirito x Asuna moments. These tiny details between Kirito and Asuna are nicely laid. I can't wait until they decided to party again together.

Kinda stupid in my opinion to not show the episode, even if the olympics are on. After 2 weeks of it, most catch highlights and "Best Of" reels of what happened. The best time zone to watch it live, fits mostly for Europe-Asia viewers, much closer to +0 than majority of US.

Anyways, at least the fansub groups are still releasing regardless of olympics.

Not showing because of olympics? Errrrr... WTF, REALLY?
Who cares about olympics? Even I would, I could just watch Olympics and SOA, thats the beauty of what people call on demand streaming. This is very weird. Will Crunchy release 2 Episodes next week, or will it stay delayed? That would basically mean I can remove it from my queue here.

... yey for fansubs I guess.

EDIT: After finding the notice that it has something to do with the broadcasting in Japan, I guess I understand it: Crunchy works together with some broadcasting station and is not allowed to show anything before they do. That broadcasting-station is showing Olympics instead of their normal stuff and thats why crunchy has to wait.
Still stupid, but as always with all the region-restrictions, crunchy isnt at fault and is just suffering from the stupidity of others.
Well, still yeah for the fansubs

Unknown if there will ever be an official English publication, but all the current volumes of the light novel have been translated at Baka-Tsuki.org. Go check it out there, the translations are pretty good and reading the story in text just gives so much more detail on everything. (Though I suppose the anime can't help not explaining all the details, since the explanations would likely take up WAY too much screen time.)

That's not quite right. The latest volume 10 is still currently being translated and I for one can hardly wait for it.
