Still not sure where everyone is getting 13 episodes from, everywhere when it was released said 26.

According to ANN its only 12 but that could mean the Summer season release but their twitter account mention 2 quarters.
https://twitter.com/sao_anime/status/206653280946892801 I just wonder where in the story they will end in 12 episodes. |

It's confirmed for two cour so it's around 24-26 episodes. I think it has been confirmed to be 24 episodes but I'll have to dig those news up. |

If the way I'm reading the LN's correctly, there could possibly be two seasons. One on SAO and the other on some Guns and Magic MMO

This is one of the few anime which I feel deserves it's huge popularity spike.

I think SAO's anime run (two seasons, I've heard?) will just be for the first light novel, where the story actually takes place in the SAO world. Unknown how they'll actually stretch the material that far, but I'm sure there'll be plenty of interesting fillers in the upcoming episodes.

damn those feminists.

... At this point I think it's highly likely that the second half of this two-course run (eps ~ 13-24 this fall) will cover volumes 3 and 4 of the light novels, which are the ALO arc. According to wikipedia, the upcoming episodes titles are 8:"Black & White Sword Dance", 9:"Blue-Eyed Demon", and 10:"Crimson Killing Intent". With the content pacing implied by those episode titles, I think they're on track to finish volume 1 at episode 12 or 13 (including ss Morning Dew Girl). At which point they will have completed the first two volumes (plus two extra side stories) in half of the announced episodes, and I think they will keep that pace to complete the following two volumes 3 & 4 in the remaining half of this run.

Ahh, Good to know those titles, means they aren't rushing thing too fast hatguy :). I know that one of the biggest fears was they would treat the main arc like they did to poor aria.
Maybe ep 14 if they include the fishing thing, but they prob won't since it really was just a bit of fun. undyed: If they wanted to stretch ep two would have been eps two three and four, etc. Unless you have read the LN you wouldn't believe how much they cut, though a lot of it is understandable since it was rather nasty foreshadowing of volume one if place in chronological order. |

The only one that I enjoyed with the show in mind is Phantasy Star Online, over on the Blueburst servers. |

I wonder if there are any other games like SAO.... stupid health regeneration sounds hilariously fun..... They should take the model of the game from that show and make it into a real game..... to hell with the development costs! ill pay more for a game like that as compared to WoW |

I heard that there will be 25(?) episodes for SAO, at least for the first season. I never read the light novels, so are there many more side stories that the anime have not shown yet? I don't regard the side stories as fillers, I felt that they were pretty well done and they made sure not to drag them out for long as one side story only takes one episode, even making it feel somewhat... rushed.
