Why is everyone thinking so deeply about the state of people in the real world? Why is it even important it's not real, the story is about the people in the game personally I don't care what's happening too the people outside in the real world and why should i? I'm invested and love te story in the game... Unless the story moves too the outside world I don't need to worry about the outside world... Literally all I care about is that Kirito and Asuna find each once they get out everything else is incidental it's a story piece of fiction (an excellent piece of fiction but fiction all the same).

The thing is with brilliant anime like SOA it never seems to last. I think that if there was an ongoing series like this it could compete against the top top contenders and potentially fill the void of Bleach that recently finished (Thank god because it sucked and the story past that point does too). The thing that comes to mind is giving them a reason to carry it on rather than cutting it down to 22 episodes or something and giving a half-assed story.

I can see SOA being only about that particular arc because of the name and the decent anime you see nowadays are never ongoing. I loved .hack and while they carry some similarities the style and presentation of SOA seems worlds better (No pun intended).

Here's hoping the best anime of this year becomes the best of the decade with a good lifespan. Because we can all dream, 'ey?

Well this series will apparently only round up volume 4 so if that's the case theirs at least another season in the volumes currently available and as far as I know the author isn't done with the story... They could just do a Naruto and do 100 fillers which I wouldn't neccesaryily complain because like you I love these characters

fillers concercing this show seems a bit pointless tbh.. soo i doubt thats gonna happen, all the side stories are kinda fillers anyways, except a few more important once.. and well volume 5-10(11) might be made if the show is popular enough..

So are you saying that the Author is done with SAO unless the anime is popular? So is volume the final part as of now? With a proper ending and stuff...

im saying that the anime is done if its not popular, like every other anime.. he have been publishing his web novels for a long time, and he won several prizes for them, so he is not done with SAO no, as a light novel that is : )

Well then it should be okay because im pretty sure the anime is doing well they already extended run from the original 17 too 24 so I think the anime has a good chance of doing well. Plus I've never seen anyone say anything negative about SAO infact the comment section and reviews are overwhelmingly positive on CR.

Well... they're going at a really fast pace so I'm not sure how many more seasons there can be. This first season is both volume1 and volume2 combined (they've integrated them beautifully).

A lot of times when you watch an anime you miss a lot of things that happened in the light novel. This isn't the case for SAO, they get everything down the letter, because unlike a book they don't have to waste time on descriptive paragraphs. There's almost no point in going back and reading the novel after watching the anime here.

Their is 10 volumes though so lets say for sake of argument that they decide continue that trend theirs atleast 5 seasons of 24 episodes remaining don't you agree? So if they continue this trend their is more then a 100 episode anime here and that doesn't count any future volumes the author may or may not write? Am I right in those assumptions or is their something I'm completely missing here?

Hm, I thought this was only going to be 15 episodes of volume1+2. Not to mention that when they get into GGO there's a lot of writing that has to do wit positioning. So I'm guessing they'll be able to do that arc (which is volume 5+6) in 15 episodes also.

8, 9 and 10 are all very short compared to the SAO, ALO, and GGO arcs. So the most I see, at the pace their going, is 52 episodes, possibly 60 if there's 4 seasons of 15 episodes.

There is 24 episodes! so the seasons aren't gonna cut down on episode length the show got an extended run ages ago and will now last 24 episodes hence why i said 24 episodes.

Huh, they don't have that much more to do in SAO. Do you know if they're going to go "past" that point in this season?

I have no idea but another conversation i had that guy seemed to think that they would likely start on the next arc around the episode 17 mark or the next lot of episodes could just be filler which is entirely possibly if a second season has been green lit why not pad the story out with a little more filler? because from what i hear and i don't know much but i don't think the next arc could be wrapped up in 7 episodes so either they've been green lit for a second series and in that case episode 24 will likely have a killer cliff hanger or once this current arc is over it must be filler.
