Yuki Kajiura is the composer . She did the Fate/Zero tract too.

SAO Soundtract I will be released in Jan 23 as a bonus along with volume 4 and OST II with volume 7 to be released in April 24 .

This is not an official source but I saw others with similar report
http://canta-per-me.net/2012/11/sword-art-online-ost-2-will-come-out-with-vol7-bddvd/

So we dont know what those tracks are at episode 1 the Town of Beginings.

I believe the theme song for the battes scenes called Mainstream .

as for the next, i cant wait to see it , so much happening next.

I keep seeing people saying its only gonna be 25 episodes but where do you get that from? All i`ve found so far is an episode list on wikipedia which only shows 25 episodes so far, but they did that on episode 14 aswell. Episode 25 is gonna be on dec 29th, so last episode of the year. Most likely it will start again in january.

I'm assuming that episode 25 will be the end of the season as you said. But with how big this show is and how much left of the novels they have, I am almost positive they are going to continue onto the next season.

I am crossing my finger that they will or have change their mind and continue the series with the next arc. ALO was only 9 chapters and they even skipped afull chapter so far.

The GunGale arc or the Phantom Bullet chapters is about 16 chapters in 2 volume.. Which suppose to happen 3 years after the SAO incident began or 1 year after players were freed from SAO.
This one should be long enough for a series.

Now the last and final arc can be OVAs , I wonder if the studios make more money in OVA.

I havent seen or heard any of the publishing company getting it. If only Viz was the publisher then it would .

I saw the books and manga at the japanese bookstore in Little Tokyo couple months ago.

The one thing I like about the SAO series is that the arcs has different worlds with different character designs. Its very enjoyable to watch and of course the plot changes since each arc has different conflicts and resolution but they are all tied together by the main protagonist Kirito and the technology of playing the game .However there are details in there that the writer added that comes out almost cliche that didnt have to be there to prove a point.

I sometimes wish the anime was done like the novel was written , in first person perspective , I mean they tried but it was inconsistent , i think it would have made it interesting .Durarara did a great job in doing that , the adaptation of the book on that one was really well done.

I also wished they did a better job in the adaptation and added some details as someone puts in the other thread "the complexities of MMO"
Inspite of the weakness of the anime , I still like it a lot because they are develping the characters nicely along with the story.

But I am hoping they do continue the series with the Gun Gale arc.

You can read the novels online though, at baka-tsuki. They have all the novels there.

I just finished the first four novels and am excited for the Phantom Bullet and on. I really love the series and look forward to any releases from under the SAO name.

I know a lot of peeps are disappointed when the arc changed at episode 14. They could have dedicated the the first 25 episodes for the Aincrad arc that has 25 chapters plus the side stories. They sped thru a lot of stories and it felt fragmented but when they concentrated on Kirito , the story came back together.

I like the Alfheim arc too .

Some of my favorite scenes are in episode 18 when Kirito transformned. I liked to become a demon monster sometimes ha ha ha. LOve the lines when he said they taste like almost burnt yakiniku ha ha ha and also when he traded info with the salamander and then saying " maji ? maji maji" , it was pretty cute lol. I sure love the seiyuu in this role ,Matsuoka Yoshitsugu.

I have been reading the novel too but only to the part where they will show next.

I will read the Gun Gale arc next when this anime do end this season.

1. Kirito beat sao shouldn't he be known as a hero. I would think especially among those 6,000 freed from sao he would be recognized as hero. i would also think he would be considered legendary in the world of vrmmorp. The players of Alfheim Online should recognize his name as the one who beat sao. But i see none of this, i expected the players of sao to worship him as a god.
2. Why doesn't anyone of Alfheim question why someone who just started playing is one of the most powerful in the game and has enough money to buy a castle. Especially his cousin when they met he could barley fly

To answer your second question , its a cultural trait . Its something about being typical Japanese, you dont ask questions, you just accept it. Of course Suguha has questions but she cant say it.So it make sense if you know who the writer is even though it doesnt to you or me.

To answer your first question, only the ones in the last party who survived the boss before Heathcliff knew Kirito beat the final boss in SAO , nobody knew who Kirito was unless the ones he met in SAO during the side stories. Sugo knew Kirito as the hero becuase he is RECTO VP and incharge of research and development who tookover SAO and he has access to those classified records which are all the players in SAO.

Remember Kirito was just a Beta tester before and for SAO who was a loner so it is implied that no one knew him before. And since SAO was a closed game , no one from the outside VRMMO world knew him at all which includes Alfheim OnLine. Its a possible scenario that info can be leaked but that its not implied in the story either.

No. She knows he was stuck in the game, but not his role in beating it. His username and true identity is the equivalent of a state secret, due to the coverup. Those who knew him in the game are aware of what he did, but it doesn't benefit anybody if his identity is revealed publicly. Again, there's a government coverup in place. Publicity = bad juju.

No hero worship here, except within his own harem.
