Rito2Ru wrote: emotions really ran high this ep with Kirito and Sugu making that identity revelation and what it means for their relationship could anyone who has read the light novels up to this point make a comparison between the two? like does the anime adapt the light novels faithfully? just curious I've read everything except for the SAO side stories and Alicization (So I've read the original SAO story, ALO, GGO, and Mother's Rosario). I'm pretty amazed by how faithful the anime has been in their adaptation to this point. Other than like has already been said; their omission of a sizable trek they made in a dungeon under the world tree. I can't really find any large flaws. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide In SAO there were a lot of things that the novels did a better job of explaining: like how many players were actually playing the game, and how many were sitting around in the first floor. And things like the tournament style PvP fight Kirito had with Heathcliff is better explained in the novels. Since SAO was fairly dead in terms of population (6,000 players is a super low number for an MMO that size) it was a little bit off-putting to see a packed arena. But in the novels it explains that every time a floor is cleared, tons of players come up there to have a floor clearing celebration, and that floor 74 was the first floor that had a roman style arena so people were excited to see it in action. The novels also better explain the very end when Kirito fights Heathcliff again, he gets goaded into using a sword skill and knows at that point that he'll die because there's a slight pause at the end of it where he would be open to an attack. The anime shows this, but it's also kind of confusing like "why would Kirito give up when he looks like he's winning?" Anyways SAO has a bunch of little nitpicky things like that. ALO also has some similar things, but I actually find it a lot more faithful than the SAO arc was in general. |

That chapter about the place under the tree would have been nice but that would have been very expensive to animate but I would love to see their concept design of that world
I wish the animation studio pay attention to the fans outside the country especially where Crunchyroll can stream . There are paying fans outside Japan . here is their twitter account. Japan is big into Twitter https://twitter.com/sao_anime . |

Was really curious as to what a monster elephant/squid names Tonki would look like though.

GAAAHHH suguha pisses me off -.-.....forget the whiny little girl...go get your woman back!!!
just the fact that Suguha thinks her crying can compete with 2 years of being trapped in a life or death situation with some one... is annoying >_> |

It's not like she was going out of her way to get heartbroken twice. She was just missing a few critical pieces of information, and he wasn't as forthcoming as he could have been. |

I can understand how Kirito feels now that this episode has passed. He feels like he just stabbed Sugu deep in the heart not even knowing that it was her and that she loved him, and now he feels a deep guilt weighing down upon him because he wants Asuna but he also wants Sugu to be happy so i can only guess what Kirito is going to do from here on. And besides he was careless not to ask something only Sugu would know personally. |

"brother?" I never expected that...i thought Sugu would run (log out asap) as soon as she realized the truth. But to my surprise that didn't happen. /the ending was intense and sad for me...BUT and HOWEVER Kirito has a limited time to complete his mission (by jan 27 th marriage day) and he needs to concentrate on that only...nothing should sway him...deal with the issues later...

I do feel bad for what Sugu went through, brother in a coma, etc. I still want to punt her into the sun along with all of her moping and mooning about. Just, meh. It's hard to believe that Leafa is her gaming persona.

I feel like I'm in the minority for liking Sugu a lot. Maybe it's because I read the novel first, which is written quite a bit from her perspective.
