THis is how I see it.

You could say Kabaya has a twisted logic , but here he just didnt agree with what Suguo is doing and so he has installed a fail safe of sort and the most logical person to execute this program is Kirito and for a price but there is still an option for Kirito to do the request or not like any other program pathway .

The animation was very exceptional in this episode. Exactly how I read it, well almost . Excellent.

Very touching moments that I almost cried myself.I havent read the next part but I will do that before the next episode.

I'm not going to be heart broken if the anime ends with ALO. I thought that GGO and Mother's Rosario were a little bit weak. And I've been having a hard time getting into the Alicization arc.

I'll definitely watch it if it's made, but I think my interest will probably wane a bit.

Never truly hated Kayaba, what he did was wrong, very wrong, but he was never truly twisted about it as far as I could see, unlike Suguo ... he never stole or had intentions of 'controlling the soul' as it were.

So it was good to see Kayaba painted in this non awful light. I still disagree with what he did, but at least he had some morals in doing it, makes his character more believable.

Looks to me like the season is gearing up for a cliffhanger with the introduction of "the seed" so the producers have the opportunity to decide upon a second season! Hope springs eternal!

all I'll say is, if they DO get a 2nd season, I hope they continue doing what they did with the ALO arc and make it more true to the novels, than what they did with the Aincrad arc, and shave off a good chunk of the content to cram everything into the allotted episode schedule.

I agree. Kayaba was just incredibly passionate about his dream.

Kirito is a butthole. Sure, Sugou was a tool, but the excessive violence dealt to him wasn't necessary. He wasn't even a challenge. That wasn't a 'fight' at all but just bullying someone weak.

Sugou deserved it, though. He raped Asuna in front of Kirito's face. Plus, Sugou is the one bullying the 300 players he kept for an experiment after the Sword Art Online game shut down.

Kirito is no hero, though. He only tore up Sugou for his own personal grudge since he knew he wouldn't actually die. Also, I don't think Asuna was raped. About to be raped yes, but not raped.

Also, KIrito was totally ignoring tha fact that Asuna was naked in front of him before she left. Kinda weird.

Good episode yesterday and Sugou finally got what was coming to him, damn creepy perv. Sad that there is only one episode left. Still hoping for more either with another season or some OVA's. Oh well now the wait begins for the last episode.

So suddenly Kirito doing something similar makes it justified? Double standards? Also, I don't remember Sugou dismembering and maiming users in the most brutal fashion possible.
