It's hilarious when people get bent out of shape over a show or an episode. Even a good series, you can't expect every single episode to be academy awards material. So what if an episode did not live up to expectations. Did it entertain me? If the answer is "yes", that's all that matters.

Few hipsters here, hate for popularity spans every variant of entertainment, why waste your time on something you hate?
Critique is good, it can help improve the product. Hate is bad, it just annoys people and causes the neanderthalisation (not a word but you understand) of the targeted community. Plot/character/plot element etc. is bad because <valid point here> = Critique Plot is bad because you're all losers/i'm a hipster/popular stuff is too mainstream, etc. = Hate |

The forum is for expressing your opinion, and that is what I'm doing. The fact that you think I'm trolling is incredibly rude and depressing. I actually write my posts coherently, and other users have been agreeing with them. I'm being called immature, yet I accept that others might have a different opinion than me. If SAO was super bad, I would have dropped it long ago. But I didn't, because it had potential. Potential that I personally feel is being squandered, but I'm still somewhat curious as to how it will end. animeshadow007 wanted to hear what people thought about episode 24, I responded with what I personally thought. Just because someone isn't constantly praising an anime you like*, doesn't mean they are trolling. So far I would rate SAO 7 out of 10. Because while I think it could be much better, it is still entertaining in its own manner. Considering how rude you guys are being, I can understand why so few mods choose to post in the forums. * I've actually posted that Sugu's confession is one of the better confessions I've seen in anime. My issue is that you try to present things that are 'opinion' as 'fact' and that can mislead others into not watching an anime. Its why I wish critics of manga/movies/anime/games/ and anything else would just shut up and go into their own little hole. Is this anime great for people like you? Maybe not but it is for others, however your 'opinion' can lead them away. I honestly could care less if you're a mod or not nor do I consider you a troll just a nitpicker that likes to use the mask of a 'critic'. I'd rather Aniplex had gone ahead and given the go ahead to have multiple seasons rather than rushing mid-way but I won't rant against the anime for it. Words have weight and you, and all other so callled 'critics', should learn to watch them better. Probably because it seemed aggressive too, which makes it like he tries to target the show for those reasons. AHTL Yeah this probably what, I'm getting at, I didn't actually know that you were into it so much, but you are definitely presenting it in the wrong manner, and sorry on my behalf, I didn't know you were responding to someone -.-? Please quote xD. I honestly do respect your opinion. I just think that people that keep expressing their opinion in the same way and try to make people believe in 'you' instead of going to try watch the anime firsthand, is stupid:P *you* was just an Ex. Mods don't post in forums because of this, probably yes. But it's the same if you took, say, a politician he's high up the power scale, now he were to do something stupid, he would be flamed at by all sort of people, same goes for celebrities, it's just because you are in a state of power, you should not think of you as one of us, even though you have the right to do so. *Not going against that you should do this, but this is what our society thinks today* Spoiler Alert! What I have a problem with is people that constantly criticize it, now I just learned about what he really meant, that he actually replied to another person, which makes sense that is good. But when you just keep doing it like: I don't like this series - In one post Later This series sucks - in another post later Why do people even watch this - another post Even though you have proof for saying all of this, I don't think you should try to shove it down another persons throat, thinking this is for the better, because the show is worthless or whatnot. I was wrong about AHTL, because he just replied to what someone asked. |

Monster Girl Quest... nuff said xD (Btw.. good game xDDD) It's a fact!

Uhh, AHTL you DID state that you only watched SAO to laugh at how bad it is, which tends to kill any argument you have about giving it "a fair chance" or anything of the sort.

I just want to add that I really thoroughly enjoy this show even when the episodes lean towards 'filler'. All in all I really enjoy it and I suggest you stop critiquing so harshly so that you all can enjoy it more too =)

I had insomnia and my mind was wondering. I came up with theory as to why Kirito does not die in episode 14 when his life points are reduced to zero. Cardinal-sama is part of Kirito's harem. The system being in love with Kirito explains all his plot armor and the not dying when being killed. Computer programs can't be in love you say. Ha, Yui is a subprogram and has parental love for Kirito, so it is reasonable the main program(Cardinal) is in love with Kirito too. This theory hurts my brain. Hopefully by sharing it you will now share my pain.

I cannot wait for the next episode... I'm literally giddy with excitement. I think this is my new favourite anime of all time(depending on how this last episode goes), it might well replace Macross Plus in that spot, and I just hope that they get a good enough response that they decide to go into the other novel arcs in anime form later.
Tomorrow I'm going to be writing a bunch of SAO articles on my website in honour of the final episode, including listing my top 6 moments from the series, doing my second arc review, and more. I'm looking forward to it, and enjoying reliving the memories. :) My take on why Kirito doesn't die: Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Kayaba overrides the system to let Kirito and Asuna live. Remember, people don't die IMMEDIATELY upon 'death' in the game. They have at LEAST 10 seconds(and I would suspect its actually quite a bit longer) before they are actually terminated, otherwise the item from episode 3 or 4(the revival item) wouldn't work. So, when Kayaba was defeated, he overrode the system and revived them as a reward for completing the game. I've always suspected that the place they go to talk to Kayaba after winning was sort of a 'reflection' place that everyone who dies goes to before actually fading so they can come to terms with their deaths. Edit: As to how Kirito managed to 'overcome death' at all and how Asuna managed to overcome paralysis... I have theories about those. My wife and I talked about this at length. The first thing to accept is that every player's mind is directly linked into a computer system. This is fact, that's how the whole thing works. The second piece of knowledge that is required for this is that Kirito is a bit of a computer savant - this is established in a few places, but most notably when he hacks the gm console for Yui. So we know Kirito knows his way around computers, game design, etc. The third thing is that they have established a precedent for 'player will' to have some impact on the game - established by Kirito slightly resisting the paralysis(allowing himself to move small amounts such as pulling the blade out slightly) in an earlier episode. It could be argued that there was no actual 'will' stat, but that the equivalent benefits provided in a typical rpg by that stat were granted by a player's determination as a person. IE. the ability to resist status ailments. Asuna's Paralysis - In desperation, both over the thought of losing Kirito AND the thought that she'd have to live without him(the suicide prevention Heathcliff promised), her 'will equivalent' was too much and the paralysis couldn't hold her. Since the ability to partially resist paralysis was established, the ability to overcome it is not too far of a stretch. Kirito's 'Victory' over death - I believe that Kirito's mind subconsciously HACKED the game in desperation over the thought of his death and his failure. Remember, he's an expert with computers and programming and the like, so removing the limitations of 'fingers' from the ability to interface with the game, he was able to break into the servers and reconstitute his code temporarily. Afterall, if his mind was DIRECTLY linked into the server - which is what the NerveGear supposedly does - why wouldn't it be possible for him to do so? And, as to why he might not have done so previously... never before did he have so much at stake. As to why it wasn't permanent, the system has code for automatically detecting glitches and terminating them - as seen by Yui's 'deletion', so Kirito was only able to 'revive' for a few seconds before Cardinal caught him and reversed his 'revival'. The argument might be made that 'it's never happened before' but do we really know that? For example, if someone had committed suicide by jumping off the castle, and then reconstituted would we have ever seen it? They'd have died again before anyone could notice. Or say someone stumbled upon a boss and was killed instantly, if they revived themselves they would've never been seen again still since the system would've caught them before they could act. So that's my theory :) Last edit: I swear Magilad wrote: BearzYo wrote: Too often the lead is some over good never do any sort of wrong believe in others the world is made of rainbows person. People aren't like that, Kirito is a good person, but he's flawed, that makes him easy to relate to. It just wouldn't fit his character if he was like "lol its k I forgive bye" Think about it this way... if you had just been tortured(which was what was happening to him), and had to watch someone try to r*** the woman you love - would you not want to give him a little bit back? Kirito is human, he snapped and took his revenge. If something like that had happened to me, I can tell you I'd have turn the person apart for it - damn the consequences... and I'm largely a pacifist. After what he did to Asuna, I was CHEERING for Kirito doing that to him. He deserved it, and I'd have done the same - and if you really think about it, you probably would too. |

Yep, I can't wait...
It is a large theory, my wife and I spent a good hour talking about it... :) Eh, I've liked it all the way through with one exception. My wife and I have both agreed that the last half of episode 22 doesn't exist. lol |
