I think your answer is the more serious and correct answer.
Kayaba definitely saves there lives after he is defeated(cancels the nerveGear "fry brain command") . What I was refering to was Kirito's avatar reappearing after his life points went to zero.
About Kazuto's computer skills, Kazuto's mother tells Suguga while Kazuto is in the SAO coma that he use to take apart and rebuilt computers at the age of six. So I will fully concede to him having high level computer hardware/software skills.
I will point out that if you are correct, Kirito will have properly earned the title of cheater. He hacked the game to win. Of course, when some crazy guy traps you and people you love in a death game I approve of cheating.

Too much Sugu, needs more Asuna. Ending was good, just as disjointed feeling as the LN but I thought there was more Asuna in the ending of the LN. He did just spend a whole season fighting for her after all, where is she?!
