I really enjoyed the SAO arc, kinda wish it would have lasted longer, the drama felt real because the consequences were dire and one mistake means actual death. It also forced societal structures to form to cope with the reality and gravity of their situation. It gave the impression that even though many of those trapped were children they were matured well beyond their age.

I didn't hate the ALO arc but it felt empty except for Asuna being trapped. Regardless, I enjoyed the series very much.

Well it's over, I liked that the end showed all of the characters(finally and barely) from before even if was for just a brief moment. That whole crap about the 'World Seed' seems like it might open up possibilities for another season, which makes me cringe at the thought of more sappy melodrama, but it'd better in my opinion if it went a different way from the LN.

Overall I thought this anime was a filled with BS most of the times and I despised the Main Characters but I liked the bright colored animation, the concept of being trapped in a MMO and Sugu/Leafa & Klein.

Well the light novel has more arcs and they were planning on OVA after this whether we like it or not , they are making those OVA especially when this anime is making money.

THis anime was based on the light novel which were orginally web novel written of Reki Kawahara http://myanimelist.net/people/11466/Reki_Kawahara
So if anyone doesnt like this anime , basically you dont like his writting at all.

MY take is the adaptation could have been better in the Aincrad arc . Even though this anime has its weakness , I think that they tried to focus on the relationship of the characters and its characters they decide to focus on , which is one of its strenght . Any show with weak and shallow characters are boring but this one they are not shallow at all.

I guess to each his own, I liked this anime from the start , there were some momentarily annoying part but overall I liked it.

Series was good, but screaming doesn't give you bonuses to beat everything yourself man. Kiritio is one cheating bastard. the first half of the series was amazing though. 2nd half meh

I feel the same, i loved the first half of it, but only episodes 22-25 really got my attention in part 2. Don't get me wrong I loved the whole thing, but it seemed kind of bland when they suddenly took out Asuna and we saw her for like a minute per episode. Overall though easily one of the best anime I've ever seen! And I've read most of the light novels so there is plenty of material to make more episodes, so I hope it continues.

The fact that he said something in mute gives me hope for a season 2.

Seriously hope it happens.

Lot of pooheads saying "glad it's over!" Someone pretty much made the epitome of good replies to that with "it's great when something ends that people like just because YOU dislike it!" which I thought was great.

People can be so selfish.

+1 for season 2!

I still like this show. Wouldn't mind more as long as it's not the same as the first or second part.

Calling people names because they think the series ended in a good way and dont feel a need for a season two is pretty immature. I thought the series was great, the ending was done in such a nice way that if there is no continuation it ended on a light note with everyone together and having fun. If it continues on then it was left open ended so that there wouldnt be any plotholes or "this has to finish up before we can do the real story".

I think that the pooheads he's referring to are those who are saying "Glad it's over!" because they complained about and hated it all along. Not those who think that it doesn't need a second season because it ended on a good note (which is my stance. I'm not a big fan of GGO and beyond).

I only know this because that reply he was referring to was something I said to one of those aforementioned haters who were just glad to see it over because they didn't like anything about it.

I'm content if it ends this way as well because i still read the light novels. That being said reading the novels isn't the same as seeing the anime, the anime seems so much more lighthearted and fun. And I know that's because its being acted out instead of just being pictured in my head. But still making more of the anime is what I want them to do!

So is Gun Gale Online and UnderWorld happening or not? I'd be really dissapointed if they ended the anime here...

To those who know the story better, are they writing Leafa out of the romantic subplot? Watching the end it looks like she is still attempting to win over half brother/cousin/whatever relation they are and its annoying. I understand from the drama stand point that they want to keep this going, but the matter looked like it was settled finally when they deduced their characters in real life. This needs to be removed even more so with Asuna back in the picture as the main romantic interest again. Not taking sides in the shipping war but it just feels like they wont let that plot thread that has already run its course go. Great series in all and impressed by the scope just leave resolved conflicts alone from now on.

She's barely ever seen in the story after ALO.

which is what I think is one of the weakest aspects of the SAO series. it seems like every arc, the old established characters are almost done away with, and new ones are brought in, along with a new game that Kirito needs to go play for one reason or another. I think the series could use more of what Caliburn did, bring all the characters together for one epic adventure.
