actually, that's what they did. well, for the most part. there were some side stories that were left out, but the only side story that's left in the continuity is Caliburn, which if they do continue the anime and put in there, they'd need to go back and explain somethings seeing as how they completely cut the Jotunheimr section of the story from the fairy dance arc.

Yeah they would, they still have mother rosario in ALO which was a pretty good arc. I honestly liked GGO, so I can't wait for more episodes.

I read through some of the last pages (don't feel like readin 88 of them haha). I also felt like the anime was moving at a wierd pace, and possibly leaving things out.
But if i have understod correctly this was the way it had to be because of the way novel was written (with side-storys and flashbacks?) .

First time posting in the forums, but anyways I got to say that Sword Art Online was awesome. I loved the story, the characters, the pacing, the romance, etc. I'm not a hardcore anime watcher, but I have to say this is definitely one of the best animes I've ever seen.
The first half was definitely the highlight, but the second season held its own. And the conclusion was awesome, everything was nice and resolved, I was very satisfied.
I just hope they make a new season!!!! And they would be crazy if they didn't since this anime is very popular. Also Gun Gale Online just sounds a lot more epic and I would like to see Asuna and Kirito work side by side again.

there was only 1 flashback, which happened at the beginning of the first novel. there are 2 novels which are dedicated to side-stories, as well as other source materials which have other side-stories. if they wanted to, they could've done away with episodes 2-7, since they're all side-stories of minimal importance, aside from introducing Silica and Lisbeth which become secondary characters after the Fairy Dance arc.
