Stark, why do you keep saying "dat" do you know how dumb that sounds? The whole "dat this" and "dat that" business sounds like something you would here in gangster rap or something... >.>

If I was going to write a review on this series, I would never use that. Just my casual way of speaking. I rarely talk like that in a serious series such as Another, Sword Art Online, Muv-Luv Total Eclipse, etc. I think it's just my way of typing stuff sometimes without being serious cause it's the Internet. It's like saying "why so serious?" Anyways, I'll leave it at that. And to not derail this thread, let's stay with the anime topic/thread. |

But one thing I notice is that since this is a first episode we really don't know these characters very well. So it seems we really can't notice the switched personalities so much. Now if this had been done in an already established and more popular anime we would probably be able to appreciate the ensuing hijinks a bit more is all I'm saying. Still want to watch this though. Also I might have been a tiny bit disappointed in seeing only 2 guys and 3 girls in the cast of 5. When I first read the synopsis say it was "5 girls and boys switching bodies" I was thinking 5 of each, meaning a cast of 10. Oh well, *shrugs* |

There are other supporting cast though that may play minor roles later on in the story. I'm guessing that the main theme will revolve around switching bodies between the 5 major characters and how they learn about others and themselves as the episodes progresses. From part of synopsis on MAL: Take one wrestling geek, the resident cool girl, the class clown, the popular chick and one sultry maid of mystery scramble thoroughly and divide, and you can bet that pretty soon they'll be answering ALL of the questions they never wanted to know about the opposite sex in ways they never anticipated! So in other words, they may feel a bit different by the way they once originally viewed their peers (whether positive or negative) when they get first hands on experience on what it is like being the other actual person. And from experience, maybe they'll view them differently after they switch back It is also noticeable though that in this episode, the characters who are in the "switched bodies" does not have access to the memories of the original person. In other words, their secrets, thoughts, and memories remain hidden. I'm also curious on how exactly this strange phenomenon happened. |

to me it's kinda of like tari tari expect for the whole switching bodies thing. you could say it's a slice of life anime with some comedy and maybe some romance. i gonna keep watching u never know something good could happen.

Well I do recall seeing an adult anime with the body switching as the premise , the animation was actually pretty good. and it actually had a strong plot .
So maybe when I saw this one, it reminds me of that but with a slice of life approach and its not drawing me in though |

I like slice-of-life shows (if they're done right), probably why this drew me in so much. I'll say, there's probably not gonna be a whole bunch of drama and definitely not action, at least from what I can tell by episode one, but it has a nice, casual and relaxed appeal, and it looks like it'll have some nice comedy and fun characters. That's all I'm lookin' for here~ Very K-On! like and I agree that it's like Tari Tari but with body-switching.

Episode 1. Best pilot episode of the season in my opinion. I don't know, there's something about KyoAni works that makes me love them. I love the idea of switching bodies. It's not a very original idea, but it's interesting. I also have this feeling this is gonna be a drama anime instead of a comedy. But maybe it's just me. Looking forward to watching more. This, Sword Art Online and Moyashimon Returns seem to be the only ones I'm going to keep watching this season. The rest are probably gonna get dropped by episode 2 or 3. kitsuneshoujo wrote: Stark, why do you keep saying "dat" do you know how dumb that sounds? Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?

The show's OK so far, but what the hell was up with the girl wearing glasses in the classroom? Not only did it make me uncomfortable but it freaking came out of nowhere too.

No time to worry. Just.Let.Go.

The girls who switch bodies with the guys better find their bodies quickly or the guys might feel the need for wandering hands.

the first ep was really good, in terms of introducing the story and main characters
the animation was good, the end song was great when I was listening to Inaba...all I heard was Celty I guess that's what happens when you watch Durarara a few weeks before watching this lol |

Loved the first episode! Freaky Friday isn't exactly new but the comedy of this one makes it very watchable.
CR has given me too much to watch this summer, problems eh? |

Stay away from the forums, who am I kidding???

I'm not sure how long I'll hold onto this...
Body switching...is something I just don't like. One or two episodes would be fine, but any further than that and I will likely drop it. |

I have never like body-switching movies (I'm not certain why, but and story about a character becoming someone else makes me uncomfortable), but I enjoyed the first episode of Kokoro Connect. It was funny, and I like how the characters all know each other to begin with which seems to remove the awkwardness I dislike about such shows, but they also don't quite know each other well enough, producing a new type of awkwardness. I also like the double-meaning to the title. "Kokoro" is usually translated as "heart," so the title is alluding to the romance that is certain to blossom within the events of this story, but is also means "soul," therefore also alluding to soul-swapping predicament they are in.
I agree with OmnileoneS, that girl in the classroom weirded me out a bit - her appearance and actions were so spontaneous and random. But, considering the protagonist girl's touchy-feely personality, I suppose she would have friends like that as well. Perhaps they both enjoy friendly tickling/groping attack? |
