Heartseed or balloon vine is a plant, a weed perhaps with some medicinal properties: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardiospermum_halicacabum

Click to show or hide I like your comparison to Loki, but he tends to sow chaos. Coyote is a native American trickster god that sometimes tricks people for their own good. I think that's the important element here: Heartseed *is* helping these 5 friends. It's not doing it in a very nice way, but the result has been helpful. First off, thank you. I agree with you on the Heartseed points but one thing is throwing me off .... Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide When he caused Inori to jump off a bridge endangering her life. If the true goal is to make everyone closer together then why try and kill off one of the people? I guess the "logical" explanation for that would be that he knew she was never going to die to begin with and wanted to hear everyones reaction to the confrontation of death since that is usually when people get the most truthful (for some reason). I tend to go with this explanation so now I'm 95% sure he has some ulterior helpful motives rather than getting his jollies off. Well that and the title which basically means "Heart Connect". Either way, I personally love the Heartseed character and can't wait to see what he is going to do next. Hell I pretty much enjoy all the characters in this anime which is kind of rare. On a sidenote to this episode, I don't think Inoris rant towards Inaban was brought on by an unleashed desire. That was actually all Inori. Not sure why I feel that way but I do. Second sidenote - Only in anime could a man like Taichi ever be considered selfish Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide 1. I agree that Heartseed knew that Inori wouldn't be permanently harmed by having her jump off a bridge. He's still a complete dick, imo. :) 2. I totally agree that Inori's rant was not brought upon by an unleashed desire. 3. Taichi is a great person, but his attitude definitely sets him apart from other Japanese, which would be considered a big no-no in Japan. They are rather conformist. So, Inaban calling him a Selfless Freak is pretty much on the mark. Speaking of which, Inaba is just like Taichi. She just hides her selfish side better. |

I'm on the most current episode and I just have to ask, good God why is this show so good?
I'm saying this not sacastically but seriously. When I see romance animes a lot of them are cheesy, boring, annoying, etc., but this show is so wholesome. The characters are interestingly deep. They seem like your average high school kids lost in life trying to find their way, and then suddenly their lives are all dramatically changed and they need to learn to adapt (I think I did that well without spoilers) to their constantly confusing and ever changing problems. This show even takes these kids into higher realms of thinking. Spoiler Alert -> Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide The kids constant switching of bodies slowly shows their growing loss of personal identity(geniusly told IMO). Their constant changing through these practically traumatic events make their growth throughout the show absolutley interesting to follow. In some ways the show even got me thinking of how desensitizing the concept of Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Body Swapping The show feels wholesome, the characters feel quite deep, and the situations are absolutley intriguing. I kind of want to know more about the writer. So far this show is getting my very rare thumbs up. PS: This show is literally so good that I had to come on to my CR account (Which I pretty much never get on) and write this praising comment at two in the morning. No joke, this show is that good. |

lol never thought that it would be this good. at first complication was interesting enough already
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide and i really didn't think it was an arc (i thought Hito Random was the theme for the whole series--didn't know it was an arc) and in the next arc the story even gets more interesting. despite end of ep 10, Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide cheesy love triangle but would be the first time i better off not thinking about how cheesy it was. Inaban's laugh after the confession was the best and also honor mention to scriptwriter AND the voice actors/actress for putting up such good act Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide i mean, they HAVE to act like other 4 characters. the 2nd arc also demands very emotional acting YESSSSSSSSSSSS |

First the previews and such made it seem like Hito Randomu "Random People" was the whole story but it is just the first of at least nine volumes. It is much more than just body swapping story, as we now know. The LNs are just about done, he writes quickly.

There are NINE volumes already? How many is he planning to write? This series is planned to finish at the end of Volume 4, which, due to a sad lack of self control when clicking spoiler blocks, I know will leave the story in a very, very interesting place. It makes me wonder if they plan on more seasons to finish out the story, or if it will be a case of, "we can leave this here or pick it up again, either way there is some sense of resolution." Kind of like the place where Spice and Wolf II left us.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide It really is a spoiler. If you haven't seen Spice and Wolf II and don't want to know the ending, don't click it, dude! Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide It ends it at the point where Lawrence has confessed his love to Holo, even though she doesn't actually confess back, but makes a joke about how she would be in trouble if she fell in love with him. (It is clear much earlier in the season that she is already in love with him, it is just the tsundere side of her personality showing, even though she isn't really much of a tsundere, she is there...) That leaves the show with some resolution, they have progressed from traveling companions due to chance and convenience, to business partners, to playful teasing and suggestive, innuendo filled bantering, to a couple in love. One can only assume that lovers comes soon... Though I haven't gotten around to reading Volume 6 of the light novels yet, so I don't know how soon or how far the relationship progresses. If the production committee wanted to do another season, it would be easy to do. There is nothing stopping them from continuing the story. However, fans can feel at least a sense of resolution in that the will they or won't they fall in love, or admit their love, is at least partially resolved. Sure, I'd rather see more seasons, but if they had to stop, at least it is better than stopping at the end of season 1! I feel that the place that Kokoro Connect is at by the end of novel 4 (from what I have read about it, at least, since I haven't read it) leaves this story at a similar place. Sure, the story goes on, but so do all good slice of life stories! I hope the continue with another season. It is a very good show! |

Volume nine comes out on the 29th, could be the last one or there may be some side stories but you never know until its over. I got the first seven volumes and some of the manga adaptation today, very happy. Tempted to skip to the third volume but I should read the first two first.

Wow. This arc started off with a bang! I loved it. And the new ED is great too. I can't believe that they are going to wrap this arc up with only 3 episodes. It may feel rushed in the end.
And then the following arc likely won't be aired on CR. :( As hpully pointed out, there are 9 volumes currently published and each arc has covered one volume. So, that means 5 more books can still be adapted for a second season. I sure hope that happens. Regardless, I will have to order all the books. They are just too good to pass up. |
