i really say its not...but all my peers tell me it is...ya know they all watch drama and stuff and when i can't relate to it they ask what i do watch...i say anime...they have that look and tell me its childish...i just nod but in my mind --- "its my business not yours so butt out"...then they also think it only deals with superficial stuff when in reality it deals with serious topics like life, death and love etc. but in a lighter and more understandable way than harsh reality that they prefer...
im in this quite of dilemma so guys....help please....
what do you think???

i dont think its childish in fact there are some animes that are very complex and deal alot with serious problems in the world that pplz dont realize .... most of the animes that gainax makes are very confusing but have sum kind of relation to human interactions and consists of many underlying meanings that i have yet to figure out myself but alot of other pplz have already told me about .........to me i just enjoy watching animes and thats how i see it just enjoy what yu do and dont care bout what others think

well.. it all depends on the person's personalities right? I luv anime and i hate those corny drama stuff! I intend to watch them until im a senior citizen.. ROFL!!! (as long as theres good anime though) grrr... they better take back their comment about anime being childish

i dont think anime is childish... it just means that their imagination is llike out of ten would b less than 5 hahaha.... n beside making anime is very complex rather than make a drama just set the equipment get the actor/actress then action.... but for anime it might take years for making a movie which they have 2 draw it then animate it using a computer n all those stuff....

They say it's childish because its cartoons. And the fact they probably haven't seen any of the more adult anime/manga out there. And you're right everything drama, romance is played out in a manga/anime. So what if its the moving real person on the screen, or the fiction character in a book? The stories still going to follow what ever it was scripted to be. Eh, I don't watch any of the drama and reality shows. And when I hear WHAT DOES GO ON...I don't wanna know. Why do I care if some chick flashed herself to earn the respect of 90 million viewers that now consider her a whore for her entire 15 mins? When I could be curled up in my room, reading a good book that builds my vocab and will help me in the long run. Or staring intently, rotting my brains out, at some gigantic pair of surgery scared breast?

Anime is not childish because it teach you somehow some lesson also they are made from real human situation xD but i think is more depend on yourself how u see the things |

people only say it's childish for 2 reasons. 1~they can't get over the fact it's animated. 2~their only experience with anime is kiddy shows

if you're 30 y.o. and watching ichigo mashimaro and they called you childish, im afraid yes you are. but then there's nothing to worry about, you are not what you watch and in my opinion most drama storyline that available out-there is not much different then anime nowadays. DO NOT SUCCUMB to their influences, that what makes you weak. show them that anime can be mature
show them hentai made them watch berserk, hellsing, monster and all that M to A-rated anime and let them decide whose the childish one |

agree, if u want to convince them then show them a good anime, if they r into dramas then show them something like saikano (or any other better drama anime, not a big fan of it) but its not childish, they prolly think it is cuz they saw pokemon and dbz when they were smaller in cartoon network
