90% of anime is made childish, because it was made for little kids.
So is anime childish yes most of it is..

The same can be said from any other country, anime made in America 90% of it is childish, but their still that 10% made for more mature audiences.

So wen people ask is Anime Childish I have to say.. Yes most of it is.. because that is just a well known fact, based on real evidence.

I have been watching anime for 25 years. That is longer than you have been alive. Yet I admit most of anime is childish as pointed out above. Ask me your acting very childish with your wording. (proving the point that anime is childish because of how your acting and typing.)
On another note its Anime not Animes their is no Animes its anime. Anime stands for animeeshun (animation), and can mean one or more than one.

Whoever said that anime is childish is the real childish one. Why? Because saying that means they are too narrow-minded to explore more of what anime really is. Sure, there are series aimed for children but that obviously just one aspect of anime. That's why we have different genres of it like shonen, shojo, sports, comedy, slice of life, seinen, yaoi, yuri, drama, psychological, etc. Each genre caters to a different target audience. Some stories will be lighthearted and can make us laugh 'til we fall of our chairs while some stories can be really disturbing and makes us reflect on a lot of real-life matters while some stories can make us cry like we're watching some cheesy afternoon soap opera.

Plus, anime does have it shares of good benefits such as promoting culture awareness (obviously Japan's), initiating "hidden" talents in its viewers such as future and/or currently aspiring artists, writers, musicians, etc. and even (with children aimed series) teaching good values such as respect, faith in others and oneself, honesty, and loyalty just like a few remaining good cartoon series in the Western world.

So, for the love of humanity, they shouldn't slap a label on anime as being childish. They should be more open-minded towards what really anime is all about if they think they're "too mature" or "grown up" for it.

End of rant. <3

WHY ARE THESE COMMENTS SO LONG?

There are two kinds of reason why the comments are long. One, there are those who explain it in a literate manner and would want to enlighten (and hopefully change the minds of) those who think anime is childish. Two, is that they just do not want someone or something bashing or labeling something they love with a passion the wrong way. *Shrugs* That's just my thought.

.....Jeeeee, thanks for saying everything I wanted to. =)

But I have to agree with that completely. Moreso in my opinion, I believe that even with those that wish to bring qualities to children can still be very useful to adults; such as a few series like Naruto, Bleach, Katekyo Hitman Reborn and a few others that are out there are fully capable of teaching lessons like: trust, unity, bonds that we share or should share, the power of persistence/determination, etc.

So to put it plainly. Is anime truly childish? No. Not at all. Are some of the things that take place in anime childish or can they be? Yes. Very much so. But by the end of the day, I'd rather be watching that enjoying what I'm watching full well knowing that there is a message in what I'm watching rather than believe that I'm a full fledged adult and fully agree that I watch childish things.

I don’t think it’s childish at all, some series like Death Note and Elfen Lied are far darker, dramatic and even emotionally mature then most other medias. There are some anime that are probably more aimed at the younger market, but that doesn’t mean adults cant enjoy them and as a very wise man once said...

"There's no point in being grown up if you can't be childish sometimes"
