After lelouch killed his father his geass was not only in one eye but in both eyes. His father was also immortal and since Lelouch killed him it is possible that lelouch himself also became immortal and 'killing' himself at the end was meerly an excuse to reach peace. C.C also speaks to what may be lelouch on the cart and her eye movement in the direction the driver helps reasure this.Also C.C says that she would never allow lelouch to die and with that said she would not of allowed Lelouch to go through with his plan. This is simply my theory and i like to believe that Lelouch is still alive. I doubt there will be an R3 though as the series ended pretty welll and in making an R3 it gives the chance of ruining what is currently a fitting ending for the series.
