i so can't wait for CRs simulcast announcements. Anyone know when they will be announcing the new season?

They almost certainly have Hiiro no Kakera Season 2, which starts on September 30, so we can expect an announcement before then.

Shinsekai Yori is the anime with the earliest start that hasn't already begun, and it begins on September 28 (U.S. time).

They will be at Anime Weekend Atlanta starting on September 28, so it isn't a stretch to assume they will make some announcements at that convention or at least during that time frame (which they could then publicize at the con).

Shinsekai Yori's first broadcast is on CS-Asahi. Honestly, I have no idea what that station even is, but all the promos and even the official homepage are promoting the normal Asahi broadcast (starting Oct 2) instead. I take this to mean that CS-Asahi is some sort of premium channel, and if that's the case any simulcast will most likely be delayed to the Oct 2 airing.

Also, I have a feeling that the first episode of Hiiro no Kakera 2 will be an episode 0 that recaps the first season (similar to Rinne no Lagrange 2's episode 0, which was airing in the same timeslot). If that's the case I'm not sure how CR would handle it - Viz completely ignored the Lagrange recap, but CR are much more serious about simulcasts so who knows.

"CS" stands for "Communications Satellite". Wikipedia lists the Asahi satellite channel as 630 yen per month.

So we can treat Oct 2 as the broadcast premier and, yes, I doubt that the broadcast premier station (and therefore leader of the broadcaster pool) would agree to Crunchyroll getting a stream before the broadcast premier,.

Even assuming the first episode of Hiiro no Kakera Season 2 is an "episode 0" recap, and CR pulled a Viz and skipped it, we have 3 series beginning the next day on October 1 (US time), two of which are on TV Tokyo.

Assuming CR doesn't do announcements at SailorBee’s panel on Sunday afternoon, that would make Friday, September 28 a likely date for a few.

I didn't say anything about Hiro no Kakera Dai-ni-Sho, I was referring to the date of the broadcast premier of Shinsekai Yori, which based on what Llamaben wrote would be October 2. The 28 Sept. airing on CS-Asahi isn't its free-to-air broadcast premier, since CS-Asahi is a subscriber satellite channel.

As I wrote somewhere a few pages back, I would not be surprised if there is a slate of announcements at Crunchyroll's panel at Anime Weekend Atlanta, which runs 28 September to 30 September.

It was the next series to premiere, which I had mentioned in my earlier message you had replied to.

Precisely ~ I quoted the part I was replying to, and edited out the section that I wasn't replying to.

Hmmm no Jojo's Bizarre Adventure love? I am wondering if CR is going to be streaming it?

I'd definitely give it a chance if Crunchyroll gets it.

pistolsaf reckons that Viz might get it. If they do, surely Crunchyroll would let them know Crunchyroll would let them know they'd be happy to sublicense it, even if the sublicenses over the past couple of seasons seem to be mostly Sentai and Aniplex.

But its not a series I've been waiting for since it was first announced ... if its a matter of following it on Hulu streaming, I'm not sure that I'd bother.

I love the manga, read it for years in Ultrajump. Hope Crunchyroll gets it as Viz Hulu doesn't stream in Canada

Well, I was mainly agreeing with theskyflame's prediction on that since A.) it was a WSJ(Weekly Shounen Jump) mainstay before it to Ultra Jump, B.) Shueisha publishes the manga(Shueisha being one of Viz's parent companies), and C.) Viz Media had released part of the manga in North America. If I was guessing which anime that Viz would simulcast, Jojo's would be the most likely one. While theskyflame thinks that Magi will also be simulcast by Viz, the fact that A-1 Pictures, Aniplex's in-house animation studio is animating it AND that it is airing in the nichigo block like Blue Exorcist makes me believe that Aniplex is not going to let somebody else license it, and will let their North American arm Aniplex of America handle it. Although theskyflame is correct about it being a Shogakukan manga(another one of Viz's parent companies) and Magi being Shogakukan's 90th anniversary project, Viz Media has not licensed the manga for North America despite it being a WSJ manga.

Anyway, now that I know that Bandai Visual is likely the international distributor of Girls und Panzer, I feel more confident about that anime being licensed by either Funimation(who licensed Eureka 7 AO and who will very likely license rescue Eureka 7 ) or Viz(remember that Bandai Visual shows like Tiger & Bunny and Rinne no Lagrange both went to Viz). Or Bandai Visual could likely make us wait a while for its licensed and solicit their English-subbed Japanese BDs. But yeah, Girls Und Panzer could be that 2nd Viz simulcast.

This is the Crunchyroll News article that mentions the Girls Und Panzer voice cast and Bandai Visual makes the announcement. And I am glad that Aya Hirano is getting more work, but that's neither here or there.

EDIT: I didn't mention K in my predictions because I had no idea what it was about, and since it was a Starchild Records series, it would have to be licensed by Sentai to be on Crunchyroll. By the info on ANN's Spotlight, I am now thinking somebody will license the series. Maybe Sentai and then we'll be seeing K on Crunchyroll

Considering Lagrange didn't get the kind of numbers Viz was really looking for according to their Facebook page I kinda doubt they'd go for something like Girls Und Panzer which seems to be a similar kind of show. I could see them potentially getting Magi but it depends on how heavily Aniplex views the title. It is something fairly mainstream and since the manga isn't over here yet and as has been mentioned it could be a pretty big gamble for them to do their typical premium releases for it, and it may be something their better off sub licensing to another company. Guess we'll see what happens though. It's not always easy to predict how this stuff will go after all...
