It's an interesting choice for them, would be good for their Neon Alley down the road but this is more of a fujoshi oriented show than anything else. Actually, seeing the trailers, GoHands is trying to appeal to both audiences. There's the usual bishounen/fujoshi bait, but there's also the big-boobed neko girl. Plus, the general idea behind the series is of a shounen. A fight between "seven kings", each with their own power etc. |

Wasn't on my list anyways so I am not crying about that one being Viz Hulu (yet). |

What else has Crunchyroll picked up for this season? I kept my Premium Membership because I wanted to see Robotics;Notes and JoJo. If Hiiro no Kakera is all they've got this season, I'll have to cancel my membership...

Don't worry, apparently they're going to announce a title a day based off of that New Fall Titles post from yesterday We always get a lot of shows each season, now whether they get Jojo or Robotics;Notes is a different matter but have patience, most of the shows' air time doesn't start until around first week of October |

Now, I may go down to anime only membership if they only have one J drama simulcast like they did this summer |

If Hiiro no Kakera is all they've got this season, I'll have to cancel my membership... I see you joined in July, so I assume you have no previous experience with Crunchyroll's simulcast announcements. They don't announce everything at once. Although they sometimes have made a number of announcements at once (e.g., they announced 10 titles on one day last season), it is more typical that they announce between 1 - 3 per day. Also, on the lineup page, don't assume that the number of boxes shown are all the titles they will announce. It is common for them to get down to as few as a single "?" box then add another, or even a few additional, and repeat that a few times. For the summer 2012 season, as an example, CR didn't finish their last announcement until July 18, after both shows they announced had already started. In previous seasons, they've actually ended up being able to license a show as deep as 6-7 weeks into the season. Regarding Robotics;Notes, keep in mind it doesn't premiere until October 11, so CR doesn't have to be in any rush to announce it. |

Robotics;Notes's English 'fact sheet' lists the territory as World except Japan.
http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime-news/2012/09/26/roboticsnotes-english-language-fact-sheet Going by past trends that basically limits it to either CR or the Japanese niconico. Edit: The fact sheet for Natsuyuki also lists World except Japan, so a CR/Sentai license would fit the criteria. Edit2: The fact sheet for Tsuritama says Asia only and the fact sheets for for C & Thermae Romae say World except Japan... Maybe we can't infer anything from this after all. Edit3: From CR news: That field normally means the opposite: Where it's available for licensing. That explains it. |

No announcements today. They've changed the next scheduled announcement dates so one is tomorrow, one is Friday and one is Saturday(I imagine if they're announcing on a Saturday, that is a panel announcement and will likely be more than one)
Anyway from Countdown, these shows premiere in less than 7 days(as of 4:45 p.m EDT) Shin Sekai Yori: 1 day 18 hours (September 29th 12:30 a.m JST) (broadcast premiere is October 2nd IIRC) Hiiro no Kakera 2: 3d 16h(September 30th 10 pm JST) ( Crunchyroll simulcast ) Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun: 4d 19h(October 2nd 1:35 a.m JST) Kamisama Kiss: 4d 20h(October 2nd 2:05 a.m JST) Litchi Hikari Club: 4d 21h(October 2nd 3:30 a.m JST) (short anime) CSH Gyrozetter: 5d 12h(October 2nd 6 p.m JST) Wooser no Sono Higurashi: 5d 19h(October 3rd 1:35 a.m JST) (5 min short) Chuunibyou: 6d 18h(October 4th 12:30 a.m JST) Hayate no Gotoku: 6d 20h(October 4th 2:05 a.m JST) |

The new YTV drama is Poison. It would be interesting to see more real drama simulcasts, rather than the k-dramas that are called simulcasts, but get an announcement whenever there are new episodes.

They have been getting that mystery theatre drama for a while now so I'm sure Crunchyroll will get Poison. It is in Vision's timeslot which of course ends the week before Poison starts. I too wish for more J drama simulcasts but we are in the minority it seems. |

The Anime Spotlight for Shin Sekai Yori(From the New World) makes it sound like TV Asahi's the distributor and not Aniplex(yes, it does say world famous A-1 Pictures). I don't know what TV Asahi's relationships to R1 companies are, but I cannot seem to shake the feeling that Funimation is going to get this series. It just seems more "Western" than most of the anime this season. There is still the possibility of Aniplex USA or Sentai licensing it of course. |
