Is it slow for you, it stutters for me and the subtitles are not in sync which is strange since I live in Houston.

There were a couple of times were it repeated 1-2 seconds, but other than that, the stream was smooth.

I believe To Love Ru Darkness is going to be a fourth TAN exclusive.

Speaking of it, they did indeed go live with it at 9 PM eastern tonight; I have it started in another tab as I type this.

Unless the airing time in Japan changed to a day earlier than all the source sites state, I can guess at one of the news headlines at ANN tomorrow.

As expected, it is censored. At less than 3 minutes in, the first light beams shine across the screen.

It's possible that it's the OVA that was released around a month ago? I guess the easy way to tell is whether it has the OP/ED or not.

It is the real episode.

There was an OP song and ED as well as completely new footage not from the OVA

OK then. Hopefully this means TAN will never have another true simulcast again.

Doesn't that look like Fuji Creative is the international distributor? After all, it has a "enquire" tab at that site, and its a Fuji Creative site.

If that's a licensor offer, "Worldwide outside Japan" would not be distribution they have lined up, it would be the rights they have available to offer. While its great that the production committee has not sliced up the rights between different international licensors, but the rights could still get sliced and diced based on the rights that bidders are interested in picking up.

I'm guessing (1) that's not the last three, (2) To Love Ru Darkness is a TAN exclusive, and (3) Sure, Little Busters and Psycho Pass are possibilities. And so are probably five more that are completely off most people's radars.

Consider that when it called it to their attention in the forum, the administrator that had posted the announcement replied stating, "...we have had our release dates and hours approved by the licensors".

While the use of "licensors" makes it a bit ambiguous, if one of those was Sentai that could deal it a blow, which would not be good for Crunchyroll.

If the time and date was approved by someone in Japan (who likely was off their game), then both could be in the clear (at least technically), although we could expect the episode to be temporarily pulled (at least if it is noticed before the first broadcast) and the simulcast time changed.

That said, it was called to TAN's attention that the simulcast appeared to be well before the Japan premiere and they proceeded without any further investigation, so the persons in power back in Japan might not look to kindly on that.

It is currently 1:21 PM on Friday in Japan, so I wonder if rips from this will filter out and be noticed before the end of the Japanese work day.

Kind of disappointed with how Sentai went about things this time around. It was like them pretty much saying " TAN, yeah you can get these anime exclusively for you, and you share the others with CR. BUT CR, you only get these and have to share them."

Not exactly. I can recall it happening 4+ times this year alone, though obviously not with a first episode. I don't know whether the publishers found out about these or not, but at the very least it didn't make it to any English news sites (which is why I'm replying here rather than at ANN).

Holy Sh*t seriously, anime network coming 10/5 9:00 pm in the box, wow they screwed up yesterday, I hope it doesn't make Crunchyroll look bad and I hope AN doesn't get too much in trouble.

I note the time is exactly the same as yesterday (9:00 PM EDT / 6:00 PM PDT), which is what I expected it should be.

I wonder if the admin that basically blew me off by saying the time had been approved got called on the carpet this morning for at least not double-checking.

We are late into the night on a Friday in Japan, so I am wondering if we'll really see the fallout of this until late Sunday (i.e., Monday morning in Japan).

It would be interesting to know how many hours it was up before it was pulled. As expected, the rip is apparently out there, meaning the damage is done. I checked a fansub site and found a listing for the first episode (and the OVA, so they don't have it confused), with multiple sources listed.
