To Love Ru Darkness episode 1 listed as "coming soon" and on the schedule for 10/5 ;)

Holy Sh*t seriously, anime network coming 10/5 9:00 pm in the box, wow they screwed up yesterday, I hope it doesn't make Crunchyroll look bad and I hope AN doesn't get too much in trouble.

How does it make Crunchyroll look bad???

Guilt by association, potential collateral damage, people being irrational, that sort of thing.

At the moment, TAN's page for To Love Ru Darkness is no longer visible/accessible for me. Also, shortly before the show's entire page disappeared, I noticed that the placeholder for episode 1 had been removed from the show's page. Hopefully this is temporary.

I see it has also disappeared from their alphabetical listing, and the announcement of it starting on October 4 is now missing.

Crunchyroll and The Anime Network are competitors. Crunchyroll does have an association with Sentai, who of course licenses anime and uses TAN and/or CR and Hulu to stream their shows. Right now, this seems like a black eye on TAN and no one else. I am sure that Japanese licensor is likely angry about this, but since it really hasn't been reported on ANN or other anime news site, it will likely blow over and just the few of us that noticed it will remember it.

The YTV drama's always tend to be at least a few hours late, I think Poison actually started Thursday night in Japan. Taburakashi was later than this I think.

I could be wrong, would be happy to be wrong but I think Taburakashi, Vision and Poison all have the same Thursday night mystery theatre drama timeslot.

Edit: confirmed all three were Thursday night 11:58 and Taburakashi and Vision were simulcast 12 hours later on Crunchyroll. That time has passed now for Poison.

They do, but I was referring to the variations in the time it is simulcast on Crunchyroll. Vision's time was about a day late.

I have no idea how these contracts work, but Sentai might be in trouble too if they were the ones that approved TAN's time. It's hard to assess the full impact right now - ANN's leak basically killed their simulcast attempts, while other premature airings have been swept under the rug - but you would think that Sentai would be wishing they licensed the 4 series to CR rather than TAN.

Mixing up times is something that happens a lot for some reason, but TAN's response to TheAnicentOne's warning is just another example of how incompetent they are. I've messaged CR about a premature airing before (it was only off by an hour), and they responded by fixing the time within half an hour. My message was sent at around 11pm PDT, which makes the speedy response even more surprising.

When you think about it the difference in responses is something to be expected - CR are committed to delivering good quality streams that are comparable to fansubs while TAN is still stuck in the 90's using those awful yellow subs.

Was it? I thought both came out Friday at noon eastern.

And 11:58 PM in Japan is 10:58 AM the same day at eastern time, possibly off by an hour. The dramas air with in an hour or two of noitaminA shows.

The schadenfreude feelings of watching TAN's situation is huge for me, especially after weeks of dealing with their bull of premium account resets. The most unprofessional, don't know what they're doing companies in online streaming I have seen in a long time.

I feel bad for TAN. But perhaps this will inform Sentai that they are better off with Crunchyroll handling their simulcasts. And ANN is covering the removal of the 1st episode of To Love-Ru Darkness
