Yeah, Ebiten was from last season.

Another box was added with the announcement of Ebiten, too.

It is a bit strange how every licensIng company has avoided even mentioning Little Busters. I wonder if it is a case of the production group just not wanting to license the property to any western sources or with conditions/costs no one will accept.

I recall that Upotte! premiered as a stream on niconico.jp in the spring, but was then broadcast on TV in the fall. I have to wonder if the same isn't true with Ebiten (although if so, it is odd that even Countdown doesn't have it listing one its currently airing page, which also lists episodes due to air within 7 days).

At least this holds out hope for Seitokai no Ichizon fans that if CR doesn't get the new second series this season (which I expect they won't), that they could get it next season.

EDIT: At least ANN confirms the Ebiten TV broadcast for this season, and also notes something important for the "already seen it" crowd:

While the title was originally distributed via live streaming on the niconico (formerly Nico Nico Douga) video service, the television broadcast for the series will feature longer episodes.

Actually that was added after Aoi Sekai no Chushin de! was announced.

I'm just thinking that this won't count as a simulcast announcement, even though it will fall into CR's Fall season. Basically, I expect that options are still open on the other shows that haven't been announced yet.

Edited to add:
Also note that the announcement title said "Crunchyroll to Stream "Ebiten" Anime". The other announcements specifically state that they are for the Fall Lineup.

They do list it on the Crunchyroll Fall 2012 Lineup page.

Ebiten is on the Fall lineup page so it does count as a simulcast(and since it is having a broadcast run this season it is a simulcast). I wasn't expecting it, but I will definitely support this hilarious show by watching it on Crunchyroll(I had already seen the fansubs of the niconico version)

TheAncientOne wrote: Both Countdown and FansubDB agree that it is only one episode per season (Countdown more specifically states one every 3 months), and a total of only 3 episodes. Given that, just as with the 3 minutes short form anime, it could be counted as "0.1" when totaling the number of series per season

Man did that improve the percentages for the "outlying regions" when I entered it as 1. With one 1 North America and South Africa only, one "50%+" region quickie, and one "worldwide but not very often", the horrible regions tread water (0.1 out of 1.2 is about what they were doing before), South Africa edged up, and everybody else outside of North America edge down.

On a pure box count, they are now back at 30 simulcasts for the Fall season, but really 27.3 (unless the last box is another quickie).

I wasn't aware of that tidbit, so that definitely changes things. Thanks for the correction.

ebiten, strangest simulcast ever, already seen on the web with shorter episodes that finished a month ago! Funny show though so I will watch it here. Good to give it the views it deserves.

Actually this improves the odds of Crunchyroll getting Seitokai no Ichizon Lv. 2 since Ebiten seems to follow the setup that started with Upotte. That is that a Kadokawa show gets streamed by niconico.jp and then gets a TV anime run the following season. Since Seitokai is a Kadokawa series and Crunchyroll tends to get at least one Kadokawa series per season, chances of Seitokai 2 being on Crunchyroll during the Winter just went up significantly.

That's great to hear! I'd be able to fan sub it either way, but CR got that 1080p streamin' that I love so much <3
