Aoi Sekai no Chushin de is only one episode per season?! WTF, great, now there's only two new real series being broadcasted in Spain this season, and one of them is premium-only, I'm not paying the same as an American for that...

It is being streamed by niconico.jp, and is one of five shows* they are streaming that no company in the United States have announced as licensed.

During the past several seasons, I can recall there being one and less frequently two of the shows they had that didn't at least get licensed for simulcast by a U.S. company, but if there were ever more than that, it was over a year ago, and I can't ever recall when the total that were MIA on this side of the Pacific was as many as this.

NicoNico.jp shows they licensed the show via King Records, and those shows have typically come to CR via Sentai.

* The other four are Little Busters and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Seitokai no Ichizon 2, and Wooser no Sono Higurashi

I think the last time there were so many MIA was spring 2011 with A-Channel, Softenni, (late-cast) Dog Days, 30-sai no Hoken Taiiku, Abnormal Physiology Seminar, and Yondemasu yo, Azazel-san.

This season, NicoNico.jp shows they licensed both Little Busters and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure from Warner Japan. Has Warner Japan ever been the publisher for international distribution? I don't know of any time when they've been the licensor for something, so maybe that's why we haven't seen those two titles simulcast yet (those series could still be late-cast).

I was unaware that Say I Love You was a Starchild Records/King Records series. K is also one of their series and Viz got that earlier. Generally, anything from Starchild has be licensed by someone(Sentai basically) for Crunchyroll to get it. Of those five, TheAncientOne listed, Wooser seems the most likely one for that TBD box but I would not rule out Little Busters or Jojos. I am not sure if CR has ever gotten a WB Japan show though(Sentai got two as mentioned already and Viz got Accel World), and that could be part of the delay if it hasn't already been licensed yet.

I think someone mentioned before in another thread that Aniplex shows were MIA during Spring 2011(but that seems to have been corrected somewhat now).

As I recall, TAN's simulcasts of Ro-Kyu-Bu ~ Fast Break! and Heaven's Memo Pad fall into that category.

The TV series that the Anime News Network have WB Japan listed for Production credit are:

Summer 2011:
Ryo-Kyu-Bu / Sentai, TAN streaming
Heaven's Memo Pad / Sentai, TAN streaming

Spring 2012
Accel World / Viz, Viz streaming

Summer 2012
Campione! /Sentai, CR streaming (Publisher "Crunchyroll")
a storia della Arcana Famiglia (TV) / Sentai, CR streaming (Publisher: "Showgate")

Fall 2012:
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
Little Busters

Of those in past seasons, Campione! has WB Japan for the 'provided by' on niconico.jp. On CR for Campione!, the publisher text says "Crunchyroll," but its hyperlink says "Bullseye." So for Little Busters and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, there is precedent for them being simulcast in terms of "WB Japan" appearing on niconico.jp, of which I was previously unaware.

Could be the Japanese licensor being very deliberate if it's a direct license to Crunchyroll. If it's Warner Brothers Japan, they usually license to Sentai(or Viz in Accel World's case).

But Crunchyroll is gonna announce some catalog titles too. First one this week is Pandora Hearts , a NIS America sublicense.

So, there's 4 more planned catalog. I swore ANN streamed Pandora Hearts before -- charging $20 to view the whole series -- but I can't find it on their site. The same goes for Our Home's Fox Deity.

I'm making a rather baseless guess here but I have a feeling that we may be getting more NIS titles.

I also found out that CR is streaming (or streamed) the first 2 episodes of Persona ~ Trinity Soul ~ here but I don't know how long along this was -- it was probably ages ago before I acquired knowledge of how the industry works.

EDIT:

Upon a little bit more research (reading comments on the Persona videos), it seems like the videos were added about a year ago but not completed.

That might be a good guess. They announced Denpa Onna the other day. Maybe we'll get that one?

If you look under Media Factory Infinite Stratos is there, under Showgate Ro-ku-byu is there. They might be announced soon.

Pandora Hearts is one of four NIS titles that have been made available on Hulu within the last half a year or so. The other three being Our Home's Fox Deity, Persona ~ Trinity Soul, and Toradora. We'll see whether that's a pattern or not. Hopefully we'll see some that haven't previously been made available anywhere.

Given that the first one is Pandora Hearts, it wouldn't be much of a leap for the remainder to of the NIS titles that are currently available on Hulu to be part of that next four, which also includes Our Home's Fox Deity, Persona: Trinity Soul, and ToraDora. On Hulu, they actually show up under the company "New Video Group" instead of NIS America. That still leaves one slot unaccounted for.

It is interesting timing that just last night I looked up and added these other Pandora Hearts and two of the other titles to my bookmarks for Hulu (having already viewed ToraDora there earlier this year). Now it looks like there will be a good chance I can view them commercial free at CR instead.

I thought at first when I read the announcement they were announcing this was the first of 30 new library titles, but upon re-reading the message I see they were referring to this season's total simulcasts. That they specifically refer to 30, however, seems to indicate that the single "?" box there now will indeed be the last.

EDIT:

hatguy12:

I finished looking up the titles again and posted my message, only to see your message stating the same.

I guess great minds think alike.

The only real pattern that shows up is it seems like the animes that WB Japan is involved in get international licenses in a package deal.

Obviously the best outcome would be Crunchyroll is working on a multi-season package deal with WB Japan and its just taking a bit of time to finalize the terms. The worst would be WB Japan has decided international simulcast streaming isn't worth the bother.

In the middle would be the production committees had not allocated international licensor in advance, as used to be common three years ago, and everybody has had to wait to negotiate until there is somebody to negotiated with.

It's looking more likely that quite a few NIS and of course Sentai licenses are making their way here. If that's included or allowed in any current agreements, that would be awesome... Maybe House of Five Leaves, Katanagatari, Kurenai or Mawaru Penguindrum on their way, eh?

The fact that in the new library titles announcement, they stated, "So, this season we've kicked things off by loading up 30 NEW SIMULCAST TITLES and..." while the 30th title is still a "?" box makes me think that they currently have nothing in negotiation that would add another box. If Little Busters and JoJo were truly a package deal, that would seem to rule them out.
