I'm wishing Funi picks up Can't Take My Eyes off of You! and outsources it to Ocean. It would add a variety to their dubs

The only real pattern that shows up is it seems like the animes that WB Japan is involved in get international licenses in a package deal.

Obviously the best outcome would be Crunchyroll is working on a multi-season package deal with WB Japan and its just taking a bit of time to finalize the terms. The worst would be WB Japan has decided international simulcast streaming isn't worth the bother.

The fact that in the new library titles announcement, they stated, "So, this season we've kicked things off by loading up 30 NEW SIMULCAST TITLES and..." while the 30th title is still a "?" box makes me think that they currently have nothing in negotiation that would add another box. If Little Busters and JoJo were truly a package deal, that would seem to rule them out.

You get 30 if you count My Little Nightmare, so I wouldn't really assume that the single empty box is counted. I remember that last fall, there were some very late simulcast announcements, specifically gdgd fairies and Secret Agent Erika. (Speaking of which, I wonder what happened with Poison)

With regards to potential new NISA catalog titles, I personally am hoping for Daily Lives of Highschool Boys, but I would be surprised if that actually happened.

In all of these things, the longer time has passed since the beginning of the season, the lower the odds of something coming through.

However, on the face of it, the statement is equally compatible with the expression of interest being on the back burner in Japan and with being turned down flat. If they are in negotiations for the rights, as opposed to sorting out the production arrangements, it would be imprudent to say anything to indicate that any more licenses are coming unless and until the negotiations are successful. .

Some series with WB Japan in the production committee have appeared at The Anime Network four weeks late. While I certainly wouldn't pencil the series in, I'll wait until the announcement of the last currently licensed series to strike them out.

No more boxes? There was a box but it's not there anymore.

Which locks this season as the most disappointing one ever for me on CR. I hope Sentai and FUNi goes bankrupt.

The final box was filled with this K-Drama: http://www.crunchyroll.com/my-little-nightmare

If I had to guess, they had an anime deal fall through they expected to get, and just put the K-Drama in that spot to save face.

Overall, really bad season for CR. Very few simulcasts, and most of the better shows they got are delaycasts. I'll keep my subscription but another season like this will make me wonder if I should.

aw, the last box was taken by that previously announced drama
oh well, now the only thing I will wait on is if there are any good catalog titles coming this week

imo CR's Fall 2012 season is ok, not the best though (I still think Summer 2012 was awesome as well as Spring 2012)

Spring and summer were awesome, I agree. And Crunchyroll didn't get all the shows on my list this fall but I am still watching several of the continuing series and I have started to watch ten of the new ones with a few still to start. Not sure I will keep up with all of them but it isn't like they don't have anything to watch. Psycho Pass and Robotics; Notes went to Funimation, which is too bad and strangely no one has Little Busters, Jojo's Bizarre Adventure or Sukitte ii na yo but there is still a chance for a late pickup...

TAN's page for Chunibyo Demo Koi Ga Shitai is up. Episodes 1 and 2 are scheduled for release tomorrow (10/17). Episode 3 comes out at the scheduled simulcast time, this Thursday 10:30am EDT / 7:30am PDT.

The second catalog title is Hell Girl: Three Vessels. My baseless guess was indeed incorrect (at least, so far it is).

Perhaps that depends on which ones someone things are "the better shows". Lets do a rundown on which ones are simulcasts and which ones are latecasts.

Hiiro No Kakera, Sep 30, 2012. First broadcasts 30 September, so surely a simulcast
Gintama, streams Thursday morning, broadcasts Thursday afternoon in Japan, a simulcast
Hayate no Gotuko CTMEOOY, streamed Oct 3, 2012, premiered Oct 3 in Japan, a simulcast
From the New World, streamed Oct 2, 2012, premiered 28 Sept, aired 2 Oct TV Asahi, 3 Oct ABC, a simulcast
Ixion Saga, streamed Oct 7, 2012, premiered 7 October, a simulcast
My Little Monster, streamed Oct 1, 2012, premiered 1 October, a simulcast
Blast of Tempest, streamed Oct 4, 2012, premiered 4 October, a simulcast
Magi, streamed Oct 10, 2012, premiered 7 October, not clear when second broadcast airs, may be a latecast
Girls Und Panzer, streamed Oct 10, 2012, premiered 8 Oct, aired 10 Oct. & 10 Oct., a simulcast
Medoka Box Abnormal. streamed Oct 11, 2012, premiered 10 October, aired 11 Oct, 12 Oct, a simulcast
Pet Girl of Sakurasou, streamed Oct 10, 2012, premiered 8 October, aired 8 Oct and 9 Oct., a latecast
Ebiten seems to be a latecaste

So that's 12 anime (leaving aside shorts and one episode a season), 9 simulcasts, and 3 latecasts.

Magi seems to be an admitted latecast as it is not shown a week early for anime members.

Anything that fansubs get first to I consider a latecast, so I'd also put From the New World and Girls und Panzer under latecasts. Both of them have fansubs out a couple days before the Crunchy airing.

But yeah, out of the shows I'm watching this season that Crunchy has, 5 of them are simulcasts and 5 are latecasts... so thats not really cutting it, especially with how well they've done in recent seasons.

I think its an absurdly high level of unjustifiable entitlement to demand that viewer overseas get it before viewers in Japan, just because bootleggers can get it from the RAWs that are ripped off the debut broadcast.

Calling something a "latecast" because we get it a week after it debuts, that's fair enough. But fussing because some quicksub hit the torrents and scumbag leech streaming sites a day or half a day before it streamed on Crunchyroll, and two or three days before its broadcast in some parts of Japan, I think that's just silly.

There's actually only 2 new real simulcasts that air at a reasonable time for me this season (compared to 10 in Summer), and they are Hayate S3 and Ixion Saga DT. If I include the shorts/irregular broadcasts, Teekyu and Aoi Sekai no Chushin de are good too.

Gintama is at a good time but I refuse to watch anything with yellow subs (the light yellow subs look MUCH better than TAN's crap, but I still can't stand them). The other 3 real simulcasts* are just at a bad time/day for me personally, though Hiiro No Kakera's 5 hour delay certainly doesn't help with that...

I'll still be watching the other 3 real simulcasts and Btooom here, but next day streams don't add any value to my subscription.

* I'm referring to Hiiro no Kakera, My Little Monster and Blast of Tempest.

- Hiiro no Kakera S2 is on a 5 hour delay.
- Magi does not have a second airing.
- The stream for Girls und Panzer is at least half a day after the Oct 10 airing
- Those other airings for Medaka Box aren't influencing the stream time. It's broadcast on TV Tokyo, so there's no reason for it to have a delay (other than Media factory).
- Ebiten is actually on time - 30 minutes after the first TV airing.
- You missed Btooom, which is on half a day delay.
