I admit, I was a little put-off by the love triangle. Mostly because it was so freakin' obvious it was going to happen, and that Korra was obviously going to like the asshole more than the nice guy (which always annoys me immensely). But eh. I got over it. Like mentioned before, I realized that the show is aimed at younger teens and that age group loves sucky tropes.

I also wasn't too keen on Korra's character in general, at first. I suppose her confident, in-your-face attitude was such a change from Aang that I was thrown off a bit. That, and it kinda annoyed me that she already knew how to bend three elements despite having little to no training. It completely overshadowed Aang's entire struggle from ATLA with learning each type of bending. Kinda like a "haha, you took FOREVER to get that done, loser!"

But, y'know, I got over that gripe too. Stopped comparing Korra to Last Airbender and just enjoyed the show for what it is. (It is an awesome show, after all!) And I quite like the plot so far -- different and interesting.

I envy of your ability to forgive the anime of such things for the sake of fandom, but I just can't :[
Considering your age that the show is targeted at, you do have a nice dissenting opinion

I'm also quite stumped on how a street rat was able to perform lightning bending easily, another mystery that could easily be solved with fillers.

Haha, I think that I'm just really used to those kind of tropes, what with the crap that's aimed towards my age group nowadays, so I can forgive it more easily and focus on the good points

I also don't like how this new show exploits abilities that were 'rare' and 'special' in ATLA and makes them seem commonplace. Not just the lightning bender, which used to be a special attribute of Zuko's sister, but also Toph's metalbending. (Admittedly, it's understandable that the head of a police force would teach her troops such an ability to help them with their jobs, but still, it kinda irks me.)

I liked Korra's story overall although it not as good as the original but what sequal is honestly....my only problem wit it was just that it was kinda hmmm rushed maybe like i would have liked them to take their time a litltle more and develop the characters a little better.....ok and my main question is if she's the avatar then where is the arrow thats suppose to be on her head....i mean seriously she's the only avatar in history without an arrow...i thought that was kinda a must to be an avatar ....maybe i'm wrong about this :T Either way i will contiune watching and hopefully the next season will step it up more and really show y she should be the avatar besides the fact of her bending skills.

The arrow is an airbender trait, not an avatar trait.

I have mixed feelings on the show as well, mostly due to the predictable ending. I dislike the crappy romance part, in both shows to be exact. I felt it is not needed at all since the scenes were it's supposed to be a teen or young children audience. I also felt that they changed her personality a little when it came to being involved with Mako. The fan base and the artwork on deviantArt depicting the romance is becoming more and more disgusting, although I shouldn't be surprised since that happens in almost every fan base for shows. -.-

I wish it could have been moved up unto the second season for the romance, and focused more on the characters bonding and not having their friendship slightly severed due to a love triangle.

I wouldn't say that she didn't really learn faster in fact she had more time to learn them she is what 5 years older than Aang was and he got stuck in an iceberg not long after learning he was the avatar. Additionally Aang and the gang were way more talented than she is they could do way more with their individual elements then she can with her three.

Also the romance part was poorly done it was seriously crappy fanfic bad.

Yea, I totally felt the same way about her personality straying away for Mako, either way, I just want to see what they're going to do next.

And about the fanbased romance artwork.. I'd rather not get involved, I don't like puking :b

Am I the only one that thought the ending was depressing with Amon and Turlock? D: I don't really give a fuck to the romance.

i think it's pretty good, especially considering it has to follow in the foot steps of The Last Airbender(considering the huge following it hd/has). But it keeps up just as well. I like the characters, the story is just as cool. I'm just as hooked as i was on it's predecessor. I do miss Ang i wont lie, but im glad to meet Korra

yeah for some reason that was kind of sad, whether it was the music or Amon shedding a tear, or what they were talking about starting a new life all over again and that they were finally back together as brothers

IMO, that was the part of the show it should have ended at, I personally didn't care at all for Korra and her love life which was a crappy way of ending the season

At first I didn't even get into LoK, but my friends pushed me into watching it. Although I am a fan of ATLA, I wasn't too sure about LoK, but I ended up watching it. The music and animation sucked me in, I'll admit.
All was going well, and then...the dreaded love-triangle appeared. Just from the appearance of the two brothers automatically clued me into what was going to happen. Of course...we all know that the main character never digs the nice guys. I wish they could have held back the (inevitable) love-triangle and developed the characters more before actually making them date each other and such.
Another thing that irked me a little was the focus on pro-bending...I would have thought Korra would put some more effort into learning Air bending rather than running off to have fun. And yes, in the end pro-bending did help (a lot haha) but I wish they would have shown Korra practice more or something.
The ending with Amon and Turlock made me cry, honestly. I'm a softie.
Overall, I do like the show...kind of. In the next season I definitely want to see more Tenzin, and maybe some Bai-Fong...she's badass. I'm looking forward to the music as well :3

You guys did way better than me. I only lasted threw the first episode. I just have a hard time with any series that has a chroniclogical flow in it. I find I always miss the first generation way to much to enjoy a second and ongoing generations. Which is why I avoid these types of series most of the time.

Same here. I didn't want it to end like that with Amon and Tarlock. It's so sad. But I was thinking of the Uchiha brothers when Amon & Tarlock past were revealed. (Odd, much?)

Yea, the romance was annoying.

I found both Korra & Mako to be annoying. The main reason why I didn't enjoy the show as much as I could have is because of this reason.

I still think Avatar : the last airbender is a much better series compared to the Legend of Korra.

I miss the Avatar : the last airbender. T_T

Liked the flashbacks in Korra though.

I must agree with most of the people here, the love between Mako and Korra is PAINFULLY forced. Mako is no Zuko but he's still pretty cool, Zuko was also a jackass in the beginning and look at how awesome he came out. I surprisingly don't mind Korra I like that she has a more fiery personality then Aang but she's still a lot weaker then him. I don't like the new characters as much as I liked the old ones, I guess they just need a lot more development as there's only been 12 episodes of LOK and 3 full seasons of LOA.

As for Amon, he is freaking beast and an awesome edition to the series.

This is the fourth attemt of doing this stupid reply (Internet is freezing and says "Not Responding")....

The anime itself is good and it's fun to see Aang and everyone else now and then! But it seems that the people who created this show, place the romanic crap in at the wrong times

Think about it, one slip up from a romanic idea and Korra could have been killed by Amon....It worries me to think what season two is gonna be like now with Romantic Rivalry and the lack of a Super Villan at the moment.
....Although now that I think about it, ATLA had a bit of romance in it from time to time and then they packed a buch in it close to the ending of the series (from what I remember). But they still had lots of action and lots of funny moments, too. The only time you get some funny moments in Legend of Korra is when Naga and that Fire ferret are together, The air bending boy that looks like a messed up Aang and Bolin are in the picture. Maybe this show doesn't fit my idea of a "good show for me"....hmmmm

Very depressing, honestly the plot development with Amon, Turlock, and even Amon's Lieutenant was very pleasing, but seriously, there's no way Amon had died.

If there is a second season, it is most definitely guaranteed that Amon will be back, otherwise something better will have to come in for the show to survive.
