Natsume Yuujinchou- I fell in love with the show and it's heartwarming storyline and characters
Dan Koukousei no Nichijou- This is really funny but I suppose daily-themed shows just aren't some people's cup of tea
xxxHolic [including the Kei season and OVAs]- the art style can be painful at times I suppose but for the most part I really like the theme and music and story and the way it works in CLAMP's universe

Completely agree with: Haibane Renmei, Welcome to the NHK, Black Lagoon, Planetes and Full Metal Panic.

Plus a few more: The Wallflower, My Little Monster and Heat Guy J. (My bad if any of the titles are doubles)

Sunabouzo (Translated as Desert Punk).

A hidden gem, at least among all my friends. Horribly perverted, funny, and one of the very few cases of a better dub then sub due to innuendo not translating very well for english audiences.

They're surely not the most underrated but the only ones I can think of out of my repertoire are:

1) Level E
2) Medaka Box
3) Ben-To
4) Neuro - Supernatural Detective
5) GetBackers

I agree. But it would easily get the recognition it deserves if someone would just license it in the US. It's mega-popular in Japan though.

Hmmm not necessarily. The manga has been translated in the US for a very long time now. The dreamcast game got its port in the North American PSN store. And there are many animes that are very popular all over the world and has not come out in the states. It has gotten TWO animes and still nobody cares. Its a damn shame to be honest.

No.6, I feel like I am the only person who has watched it lol. No one mentions it even though it was a fanstatic anime. It was short but the characters were amazing and the story was deep and intense. Really loved it, needs more recognition!!

Shin Sekai Yori and Blast of Tempest were both fantastic shows that sadly got overlooked in favor of Sword Art Online and Psycho Pass. I guess some others that are often overlooked are Fafner in the Azure, which is a pretty good mecha show, even if the intial premise is ripped straight from Evangelion, Gankutsuou, which is basically the Count of Monte Cristo in the future(trust me, it works), and Gundam X, which continues to be my favorite non-Universal Century(the main timeline) Gundam show. It's one of the few Gundam shows that feels truly different from the rest.
