Post Reply Most Underrated Anime in Existence?
Posted 8/4/13
For drama/romance I'd go with Myself ; Yourself. There are some problems with the show, but the characters are just so great. I always find myself rewatching it over much more popular dramas. I doubt it truly is the most underrated anime in existence, but it is the only one for me worth mentioning. On that note, plenty of people have said things way more popular than I and I don't feel guilty about it :D.

Aria the Animation/Natural/Origination. Most beautiful show ever created, it needs way more attention than it has.

Terra E or Toward the terra and Fantastic Children are two of my favorite animes and they are very underrated and I don't know why!!! they both have an amazing soundtrack, unique and moving plot, they're not predictable and the best of all: outstanding character development.

I'm going to go with Basquash. No one I mention it to has a clue what it is, yet I loved it when it aired.

I still talk fondly of it now, even though its been about four years since it aired.

I'd have to say... Aria the Scarlet Ammo? It never seems to be mentioned on here or... anywhere but, I loved it. I'd never seen an anime like it where, the students are basically police and can make arrests, they do combat training, and are targeted by a killer on a daily basis without really caring

EDIT** Does Bobobo bobobo count as an anime? :)
Yes Bobobo bobobo does count as an anime. And Hidan no Aria is talked about a lot for being really bad. And there are other anime where students act as the government.

Really?

Shinsekai yori (this a million times) Everything about it is beautiful and it may start out slow but as you keep watching you will slowly start to notice you're suddenly hooked. Most people avoid thinking the 2 seconds of shoujo-ai/shounen-ai will burn there eyes, which is a damn shame since it's nothing bad what so ever.

Mai hime. The music, the characters, the story everything about it is nearly perfect. Shoujo-ai isn't an accurate tag for this either since the main focus of the romance is straight, a side character has a brief moment of shoujo-ai but nothing close to turn viewers off.

Blassreiter. Because kamenrider, apocalyptic setting is obviously win.

I will probably post more in the future since i have almost 500 animes under my belt.

"Embarrassing remarks are not allowed!". I never get tired of Aika's line.

But yeah, I couldn't agree more. The Aria series is very relaxing if you want a break from watching violent or funny anime (though Aria has a few funny, slightly quirky moments). It's so extreme in being light hearted--more so than Clannad or K-On.

I thought Bakemonogatari (or just the Monogatari series) is wildly popular.
