goldenboy was so funny in english

This is oh so true. They happened to show Golden Boy one day at an anime club I used to attend in college, and I've been a huge fan ever since. Quite possible one of the funniest anime I've ever seen. Every single episode is great. Great Teacher Onizuka is another anime that deserves more love these days as well.

I've always thought Outlaw Star was another anime that was seriously underrated. I like it way more than Cowboy Bebop, but it seems like it's always been in its shadow in the anime world. A shame really.

My boyfriend showed me Golden Boy and I loved it. Wow! Excellent dub, and coming from me that's a huge compliment, as I am extremely picky about English dub.

I've heard of Great Teacher Onizuka, but I'll need to find it online somewhere in order to watch it.

I'll be certain to check out Outlaw Star; I loved Cowboy Bebop and I've always been a little disappointed that I've never been able to find a show that holds a candle to it.

Vampire Princess Miyu, Kyo Kara Maoh! and Ranma 1/2 are all great animes that are extremely underrated.

Texhnolyze, Ergo Proxy, Black Lagoon, Haibane Renmei, Ghost Hound, Paranoia Agent, Perfect Blue, NieA Under 7, RIN ~Daughters of Mnemosyne~, Paprika, Blood+, Freezing, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Shigurui, Witchblade, and Serial Experiments Lain.... all great examples of very dark or otherwise psychological yet beautiful shows with very excellent dubs and all are more or less overshadowed by all the other types of shows out there..

I tried really hard to appreciate Serial Experiments Lain, but I just couldn't get into the show. It seemed to me like every episode just kept getting weirder and weirder. Same goes for Paranoia Agent. Maybe I was too young when I first watched them, but it seems like psychological anime as a rule aren't my thing.

On the other hand, Haibane Renmei is definitely one awesome series that deserves much more respect than it garners.

Some psychological anime are pretty hard to comprehend at first, but that's why I like them :D. All of them deserve much more respect I think, in their own ways of course...

For me is Great Teacher Onizuka.
I see this has been put down on this thread a couple of times, which is a good thing. And I know a lot of people do like it but none of
my friends have watched it or don't want to check it out which is annoying. Every time I see a post like this - underrated Anime etc.
I say GTO and people do agree, and it does show only some people know what I'm talking about. Well done for these people!!!

Baccano!

It's funny because the only reason I started watching it was because people said it was better than Durarara! and I wanted to prove them wrong. (I had just finished DRRR so you get how I felt.) Turns out, it is better than Durarara. T^^T It's sad it gets less attention though...

Only anime that I watched twice in my whole life...It's crazy how it explains how to tell a story while telling the story :p how everything is all mixed up but you get to understand all at the end. 10/10 for baccano!

It gets less attention because nobody has the lack of shame to be able to type the phrase "The Flying Pussyfoot", and still talk about it!

Interesting how things that are actually quite highly rated like Clannad and Steins;Gate keep creeping into this thread...

My list, adjusted for time and thought:
Ah! My Goddess
Otome Youkai Zakuro (Zakuro)
Gosick
Sora No Woto (Sound of the Sky)
Ano Natsu de Matteru (Waiting in the Summer)
Mysterious Girlfriend X
Noein

Most anime list topics tend to devolve into "anime I like" (for positive topics) or "anime I hate" (for negative topics) over time, with little regard for the actual criteria.

Karas, 'nuff said.

I LOVED Karas. The CG animation was awesome... the show was way to brief though. One of my favourites.

Also Mushishi. It's a bit of a sleeper, but its brilliantly done. A great low-fantasy series about a "bug" collector and his adventures. I especially love the romance between Gin and Tanyuu (I think it was more implied than out-right though). Easily my most favourite anime of all time. Ever.

Also the live action version is on Funimation (which I just found out).
