Yes, that's what I always wanted. watching anime in 480p on my 1080p HDTV...

If it's not 1080p, I'm not interested.

Back on topic, hopefully we will only have until Tuesday to find out for certain if the PS3 app provides HD content or not, but it would be more comforting if someone from the CR staff would pop in on Monday and confirm it.

I don't have a PS3 myself, but I feel we all have an investment in it being a success, since it could bring in a lot of new subscribers if done right, and that would mean more money for more content. Although that day is probably a long way off, it is conceivable that at some point, CR could start regularly buying into anime at the outset of production. (I added "regularly", as apparently they had some part in the production of Ozma).

Well I do have a PS3 and the problems it has on CR are big. There are really only two issue with the current browser app that PS3 has but they kill watching anime or j and k drama's. the first one is they can't even render SD quality, so you see all kinds of artifacts while watching and the second one is similar to the Flash problem, it crashes at least once for everything you watch. So I hope that Crunchyroll isn't going to rely on that browsers video abilities and it won't behave like flash. You Tube and Netflix work great with the apps they provided for the PS3 I use them when I don't want to run my computer.

Being home bound I like to watch those few programs enough that I wish to keep cable for now, I do understand the cut the cable though and at some point I will have to. But, I can't go to movies and I have to wait for them to release to Netflix as I don't rent from any other provider. Netflix has told me they have no idea when they will be able to air the second season of The Walking Dead and that a deal to even air it has not been accepted, so for now I can only watch what AMC offers and when they offer. I've not seen Ice Road Truckers being offered on Netflix as yet either.

back to the PS3, I sure hope whatever Crucnhyroll offers will run on my version of the PS3, as I've found many programs have issues on my unit, which is a PS3 320 one of the new models, which seems to have been given less options but has a huge HD for saving games and stuff. But many games that are not released by SONY have issues that would make watching an Anime on crunchyroll a pain if it has them too.

It would be great if it was on Xbox 360 as well.

Though it'd be nice, it'd still take a while to port it or make a new app for 360, that aside the fact that you'd need XBL Gold, and I'm not saying most people don't have it, but putting Crunchy on a console where it's free aside from the membership cost that's going to always be there anyways is a smart move, I don't think people on silver'd be very happy if Crunchy came to Xbox, or at least the people that know they're never getting gold, it's like saying "Hey come on another reason to pay microsoft" >_> If you didn't need gold, well, then I think the anticipating audience would be noticeably larger, as a free trial is kinda stupid if you need to pay to be able to use it.
Though once again yes alot of people that own Xboxs have gold and can use video services Youtube since they pay (>_>), but everybody who has a PS3 that uses crunchy will be able to use it without paying more money at all.

What games are you having problems with, and what sort of issues? The 320 GB model is quite new and well-supported, most developers do their testing on newer models (much to Naughty Dog's horror when they discovered Uncharted 3 didn't run on launch systems just weeks before they had to ship it). Chances are that either your particular PS3 is in need of repair, or (more likely) those games simply run poorly on most PS3s. Or there's something else going on. I'm kinda curious now.

Dungeon Hunter Alliance
Kingdoms of Amalur:: The Reckoning
these two are the worst of them all. They both develop lag that normally starts after a varied amount of play time, or they periodically go black for a few seconds and then come back this will repeat over and over once it starts. They also develop varied response times to the controller button presses or movements, sometimes it only one issue and many times they are a combination of all of the above, every once in a while they will play okay for a while. Reckoning also has rendering issues go into a store and back outside and there will be huge holes in the landscape, this starts after about 30 minutes of play and happens in every game. The Lag is very weird once it starts it is a periodic sudden but extended lag of several seconds probably some kind of memory issue.

I have Comcast Cable with an average of 12000Kbs it play HD moves without issue and the cable rarely ever suffers lag on my computer, which is a high end gaming computer or the HD TV when using it's built in programs for netflix youtube and such.

The PS3 is only a few months old but I didn't know it had the issues until after the 30days were up and I first put Dungeon Hunters on. I still don't know if these issue are mostly because those games are poorly programed or the PS3 itself or a combination.. But those issues are such that sending the unit in would most likely result in it being sent back unrepaired, because they happen randomly.

Mahjong Tales
D & D's Daggerdale
Dragons Dogma
and possibly
Gotham City Imposters

These suffer from one or two of the list above

Hmm, sounds like a hardware issue, sorry to say. About all I can promise is that it doesn't have anything to do with your internet connection.

My best guess would be there's something going on with the hard disk drive (since there's a few PSN-only games affected); when I upgraded my hard drive on my launch system, I unwittingly purchased a drive that automatically shut itself down every four seconds it was idle to save power. Many games expect a fast response from the hard drive, so when they had to sit and wait for the drive to spin up again, it caused strange lag issues. But with that it was consistent lag since it was always about a second and a half, with the hard drive light being stuck on. You might keep an eye on the hard drive light when you experience lag to see if there's any correlation. The good news is if that's the problem, the CR app should be fine (although you might run into cases of the interface lagging badly when scrolling through series).

Normally when I see the words "rendering issues" I automatically think of an overheating graphics chip (as I did this time), but since it's just missing terrain, it fits with the drive theory, with the game having trouble loading scene data. It is curious that it doesn't happen until the system has been running for a while, so overheating of the drive still could be a cause, and buying a new drive might not fix that. Also, my drive theory doesn't explain the screen going black randomly (although that could just be the TV and PS3 having connection issues). So, uh, don't waste any money on my theory alone please. Feel free to back up your saves though, just in case.

The PSN generally updates around 6 PM eastern (though some times they will update at 3 PM eastern) so it won't be up for at least another 5 hours

Yeah, the US PSN store update time is kinda random, any time between 3 PM Eastern and midnight. Lately they've been keeping it closer to 3 PM, but store updates with major games used to push it pretty late. If you're really anxious, follow @psnstores on twitter. Usually you can find certain things through search before the store updates, and they'll usually note when that starts happening.
