It feels like watching a tone-down anime version of God Of War... Who knows, maybe after a couple of episodes Kusanagi will shout "ZZZEEEUUUSSS!!! I AM COMING FOR YOU!!!!
|

I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.

Right now I'm not sure how I feel about this show. I thought it was pretty good for the first episode, but I'm concerned about how the rest of the series will progress.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide If the main character can defeat a god so easily how can the rest of the series be exciting? |

But there is more than one rogue god apparently and not all of them are evenly powered with that war god So some will be more challenging to fight than others I'm hoping the show will be 2/3 god fights, 1/3 harem ecchi fun lol, who knows, I just started reading the light novels |

Episode 1. Garbage. Hope it gets better. |

Will you still love me when I'm no longer young and beautiful?

Episode 2 ![]() A bit rushed into the story, too rushed. It also seems that Kana Hanazawa is playing one of the new girls so looking forward to more of her work So far though, it's just rushed in too fast. The main heroine girl is already in love with the guy as she claims and the protagonist seems to already exhibit experience with his powers despite his second time using it. Anyways, hope this will have more explanations later on as the story deepens a bit more. |

I agree that they're rushing things. I would hope they slow things down in the next ep. |

I think I will watch a few more episodes before deciding, but if this does not improve I will most likely drop it.

yeah, I can see how things seem to be rushing along fairly quickly
any one know how many eps this show will get? (I want to guess 12-13) anyway, the only problem I had with this ep is like what the rest of you have pointed out, Erica is already in love with Toudou (too soon for my liking, but shes not a tsundere so that factor didn't cause a drawn out love which is OK with me) at this point, I'm interested in seeing the other harem girls introduced and get involved - two of them already shown in ep 2 already, Yuri (Kana Hanazawa xD) and the white haired girl |

Well, the show is blatantly harem, it even states it in the beginning of this ep. I can handle that. I like the occasional harem show. The big problem so far is, as others have commented, it seems too rushed. I don't care about Erica rushing into loving him, I presume, based on the description given by the Japanese government guy that she was literally saving herself for "the right one" and somehow she identified him as the guy. That is actually a refreshing change of pace, though I like a good tsundere just as much, if not more, than the next guy. (In this case, it looks like he is the tsundere!) I also understand his distrust of her love declaration. I loved her refutation of his accusation that she was professing her love under orders, that had a real sense of genuineness and pride. (Basically saying, "You know who I am? I would never stoop so low as to pretend to love someone in order to get something from them. If I say I love you, damn it, I love you, you idiot!!!")
But the bit at the beginning where he mentioned as an aside that it had been a week and he "became the center of attention, was forced to test my abilities against other Campione, and finally came back here to Japan." That really suggests that they are skipping a ton of story. Yes, it might be a ton of repetitive action sequences and meeting the other Campione, but it still just seems too fast. From the fight scene in this episode, it is clear that he has become proficient at using his God Power to great effect, and I love his style when he is in combat. Misdirection instead of brute force is a refreshing change in a overpowered character. However, I just can't get past the feeling that it is rushing to get to some story that comes from the fourth or fifth book or something like that, so they have to toss aside the world and character building of the early part of the story. But, of course, they can't skip the standard harem tropes either, so let's rush through the other part! All in all, this was a good episode, though mightily flawed. I will still continue to watch, but I hope I can read the book before too long to see what I missed... |

The show has a good sense of humor and is obviously not meant to be taken seriously... So I just enjoy the fun stuff. It is silly enough that a god killing king of kings Campione still needs to go to school at all that we don't want to concern ourselves with the cliche of the exotic transfer student from Italy...

I'm finding this only OK so far. It seems to me like it is a less-ecchi version of Highschool DxD.
