The Worst Video Games of 2012 So Far
The IGN staff joked recently that 2012 might be -- despite absolutely incredible games like Fez, Diablo III, and Mass Effect 3 -- the worst year in the history of games.

Eventually it stopped sounding like a joke. For every awesome, forward-thinking gem, we reviewed something abysmal, embarrassing, or downright unplayable. 2012 is a victim suffering from some serious games industry abuse right now, and we're only halfway through the year.

Here's hoping the next six months brings us better games than these. These are the worst of the worst, the least likable games IGN reviewed in 2012 so far:

1. Resident Evil : Operation Raccoon City
- theres a distinct difference between a franchise offshoot and a franchise bastardization. Unfortunatly, Operation Raccoon City can only be defined as the latter. { 4 out of 10 }

2. Game of Thrones
- Realisticly, your more likely to stop after the 15th loading screen only to trigger another dryly executed piece of this messy 30 hour long RPG. { 4 out of 10 }

3. Blood forge
-Bloodforge's camera is simply atrocious, ranking as one of the first seen in a long time. { 4 out of 10 }

4. Ridge Racer Vita
- For the first hour i was convince that I must have failed to notice a menu somewhere hiding all the stuff thats missing, but it turns out that the game really is as bare-bones as it looks. { 3 out of 10 }

5. Steel Battalion : Heavy Armor
- a nightmare in nearly all aspects { 3 out of 10 }

6. Ninja Gaiden 3
- with Ninja Gaiden 3, Team Ninja displays an obsession with a new found emptiness that anchors the action, betrays fans and repels newcomers.{ 3 out of 10 }

7. NeverDead
- Neverdead wants to play like other gonzo-third person hack-n-slash/shooter mash-ups but chokes under the fun-killing noose of wonky controls and drab environments { 3 out of 10 }

8. Orion : Dino Beatdown
- the game is just so untterly unappealing, aesthetically and from a gameplay perspective, that it feels almost like a tech demo (of tech from 1999). { 2 out of 10 }

9. Gettysburg : armored warfare
-If gettysburg were a steak, it would be so undercooked that it'd simply be a raw piece of meat cut straight from the cow - gross and unpalatable { 2 out of 10 }

10. Amy
- a supremely muddled mess of controller-throwing frustration and piss-poor game design choices. { 2 out of 10 }

these words are not my own but from IGN themselves credits to theme
