Episode 3

Well, it looks like the mini arc is finally over and the main protagonist Yuuya Bridges shows up. The other members are also introduced from various countries and seems to get more interesting now.

Pretty exciting match and drama in the air as this episode steps things up a bit. Tarisa's such a tomboy and chobi LOL.

Also, the ending...oh my, anger boiling in those military veins of yours. Welcome to Argos Flight!

So what did I learn from the latest episode? Apparently I'm from "SwÄh-Den" ... Also Mrs. SwÄh-Den is tall, blond, has blue eyes and big tits.
Them stereotypes are everywhere!

Episode 4

Well Episode 1 and 2 were setup for the present but the story of the present is moving rather slow. They have used the 2 episode to develop the new characters especially Mr Top Gun and the present Yui who is a Lieutenant and the superior .

It is showing stereotypical anime traits of a half American Japanese. Always with an attitude, proud and incompetent.

Looks like the Soviet Block is still alive and not together with the UN efforts against the BETA.

Not much action , just a lot of training. Not sure what they are really planning with the story., still setting up the current story.

You could also recast his attitude as the stereotypical test pilot. Headstrong, brash, and lacking in any actual combat experience. Its a night and day comparison with the LT. Overall, I think its going to be an interesting series.

I still cannot tolerate Yui's treatment of Yuuya. Sure, she has some points but she also has access to information about Yuuya (his training, etc.) I find most of her criticisms as unreasonable. Particularly her comment about him being an embarrassment to the Japanese. Her nationalism irritates me - I've never been fond of national pride. Her remarks on Yuuya's attitude seems to only meant about his attitude towards her. From what I see, he's pretty calm and friendly with the rest of the crew. Yuuya only seems to present his sarcastic self to Yui from what I understand.

Perhaps I'm inserting myself into Yuuya too much; if I separate my self from his character, maybe I wouldn't be so angry about Yui's comments.

Episode 4

Oh wow, Yuuya seems to be struggling a bit not only with that girl but also with his past as he attempts to pilot the Type 97. Tension runs high in the air.

Also, funny drunk Tarisa this episode

It's also disgustingly incompetent leadership. How do you throw a pilot at a machine he's never piloted before, not provide a test pilot full specifications for the machine he's going to be piloting and the major design differences compared to the technology he originally piloted, then rail on him for not figuring it out in the field? What the hell kind of training is "figure it out as you go"?

Episode 2 shows that he's not an incompetent pilot, episode 3 shows that the leadership is incompetent for not providing a real training regimen outside of "throw him at some virtual enemies in an unfamiliar suit and bitch when he doesn't level them all fast enough". So far she has provided no operational advice that wasn't part of purposeful antagonizing, and his piloting is clearly not for lack of trying, but for lack of constructive advice.

Apparently even though he's there to pilot testing models of these gundams, he's not allowed to criticize their drawbacks, otherwise "get over it". Remind me of the point of testing designs again?

Granted he has some frankly unfound prejudices against native Japanese that he needs to get over(I'll blame the flimsy pretext of the why of it on the author), but they both need to be smacked with a rolled up newspaper and reminded that they're both there to collaborate on ways to best eliminate a hostile alien species that multiplies rapidly and is driven by not much more than a desire to snack on all humans. Their personal god-knows-what-hangups really have no place there, they absolutely do not have the time to dedicate to such ridiculous luxury given the circumstances, and they need to learn to cooperate.

The first two episodes were more interesting. Stuff happened. This better speed up and how... Too many cliches, too bad as I thought this show would be really cool. Give it a few more I guess.

Something I wanted to say about episode 4.

Yui is way off the mark, she's set up a pilot with an archaic system that has multiple flaws that has been proven as ineffective against the enemy. She then refuses criticism instead thinking that the fault lies with the test pilot.

Keeping in mind that the purpose of test pilots is to work out the kinks of something before it goes into mass production and the fact that her favored Japanese pilots are far and few between she should be developing systems that, on the whole, are easier for the rank and file pilots to use. Rather than force the military to rethink their training to suit her particular design philosophy, she should be the one to adapt.

Of course the next episode will feature her coming out of retirement to show just how wrong Yuya is and make him think he needs to be more ...Japanese... in order to match it.

Also being half Puerto Rican, half Caucasian if one were to come up to me, one that I had not even met prior to, and called me a disgrace; my first response would be "I'm sorry F*ck you." Rather than think they were right, but that's just me.

Also one thing that annoyed me was inorder for Mr Top Gun to be able to fly that Japanese machine you have to think or be more Japanese , well I am paraphrasing but I sure don't get that logic. Like if I have a German car I should drive it as if I am in the Autobahn when I am not. Well i do drive fast German car or not but with the bounds of safety ha ha ha.

Oh well what can I say.

It'd be easier to link my Episode 5 post than to copy-paste and edit the BB codes.

LOLOL. That image.
I liked this week's episode. I want to see some real BETA battles soon though.

Anime like this make me wonder what would happen if the Earth were attacked like that.

easy to answer, Humanity and the rest of the world are screwed.

as far as the show is, I'm not sure I like it or if its just ok with me, though it does feel that there is a lot less nudity than I initially thought there would be.
