Ninth Division Barracks
~Media and Publicity~

*Greets everyone with a toothy grin and a playful salute.*

Yo! Welcome to the Ninth Division Barracks. I'm the Captain 'round here, Captain Kaen Gingitsune. But you can call me Kaen, Gingitsune, Cap, whatever floats yo boat. Here we deal with Media and Publicity. That means we deal with all 'em stuff that does with TV, Music, blah, blah, blah, getting the Shinigamis and Divisions known, blah, blah. blah. and all 'at jazz. Ya get me? Good, I don't wanna tell you this twice, yo.

*Fixes his black beanie and rest his zanpakutou on his shoulder.*

Anyway, If you're just visiting, sure, cool. If you're joining, you best have good taste in media. I don't want some bum playing 'at classical crap on my stereo, ya hear me man?

Who, me? I already told'ya that I'm Kaen Gingitsune, The Rebel of his Era. If ya didn't know, I love human world stuff and hate old-fashioned crap. You can even call me an expert. I'm pretty cool with anything, I'm not gonna bust yo balls if you did something bad. But if it gets me in trouble too, yoooo... Bro, you'll be in for it.

*Looks off to the side with his left hand on his chin.*

I guess I'm done. Phew... If you want to find me, I'll be either wandering the human world or somewhere in the barracks. If it's important, just hit me on my cell and I'll get back to ya. Peace out!

CAPTAIN

Kaen "The Rebel" Gingitsune

Moments ago, she remained in her barracks dealing with paperwork as well as meeting her new lieutenant. She hadn't yet done either, and didn't intend to until they were nearly past due. Isawe preferred to deal with issues hand to hand, instead of on a piece of paper. And so, when she was approached by another captain to do a task... she foolishly jumped at it.... Isawe didn't have the prior knowledge that it dealt with making a delivery! She attempted to pull out of it but the supposedly pushover of a captain, insisted and left. Infuriated, she decided to see to it that the task was done. After all, if it were not, then she would have to deal with the captain at a later date. Approaching and coming up to the ninth division barracks, she chose to enter.

When Isawe entered the barracks, it was designed completely different than the others. It was more modern than the traditional Japanese-style of living in the Seireitei. The outside of the barracks looked like how it would normally look but the inside was like that of the human world's living arrangement. Apparently, when Kaen became captain, he had the entire inside of the barrack re-modeled because he couldn't stand the old way. He kept the wood floors though but made them to be heated and kept the sliding shoji doors but not they were automatic.

The barracks had been installed with speakers, ones Kaen bought over from the human world and put them in the various rooms and chambers. All of them were hooks up into his office which was also his own personal media center. However, it wasn't Kaen's music playing, it was some classical orchestral symphony being broadcasted into the rooms. Some shinigamis were confused and others didn't like it so much, Kaen on the other hand wasn't amused... at all.

Who the hell put on that classical crap on my speakers?!
A male voice boomed. A man with a medium build, wearing a skin-tight sleeveless shirt and a black beanie on his head stormed the halls. Around his waist was a captain's haori crested with the 9th Division diamond his waist. It was the Captain, Kaen Gingitsune, wearing an pissed and annoyed expression. Some lesser shinigami in his division thought it'd be a fun prank to play one of most disliked genres of music on his sound system.

While walking through the barracks, she couldn't help but feel more comfortable then usual. After all, the 2nd Division barracks had been remodled hundreds of times, while in the care of Soi Fong. She paused, thinking that the music didn't really fit the feel of the barracks at all. And when she heard the outburst from the captain, she was sure that it would be easy to follow.
Isawe: Captain, if you have some time to spare. I have a delivery for you from the 4th Division Captain.

Kaen stopped his angry rage to his media center to take a look to Isawe. He then looked off into the other room and eyed two shinigami doing particularly nothing.
One o' you! Turn that crap off and bring me the CD!
He ordered. Kaen was the type to order people around, but when someone messes with his groove, and music, things be going down in here. Even though he ordered one of them to go do it, both ran for it. As they were going what they were told, Kaen calmed down and looked to Isawe flashing a smile.
Well if it ain't Isa. Looking for me?
He winked at her, playfully. Kaen doesn't bare any romantic feelings for her, it just a thing he does to a lot of female shinigami. Make them more comfortable in his barracks.

She looked up, acknowledging his presence. And waited until he was done speaking to his fellow shinigami. When they headed off with the quickness, she was pleased that he had them under control. There were a few captains that were unable to gain their recruits respect. And it bugged her to see such a shameful sight. When he winked, she simply smiled.
Isawe: Yes. A package from the fourth division captain. I suspect its just a warming gift. Sweets probably, the Captian Hiroshima tends to make such things to give out every one and a while.
She held up the neatly sealed box by the strap for him to take grasp.
Isawe: I see you've modeled the interior of your barracks. Its much more comfortable then the traditional style.

Kaen: Sweets from Zo-Zo! Sweet!
Kaen happily took the box from the side and look at it. He always enjoyed Captain Hiroshima's, or who Kaen calls Zo-Zo, gifts. Especially if it was sweets. Kaen opened the box, careful not to damage the sweets inside. There little pastries and tarts, little candies and cookies as well. Kaen took out a cream filled pastry and took a bite.
Isawe: I see you've modeled the interior of your barracks. Its much more comfortable then the traditional style.
Kaen: Oh come on, Isa-babe, you say that like this is the first time you been here.
He said in between bites. Well Kaen did just get the floor heaters done in. But Kaen's been captain for about 50 years now. I guess it's because Isawe doesn't come here very often and only sees her outside the barracks. It's true though, the way he made the barracks now were much more to his style; he was really glad that he used almost his saving to do this, after all, he was going to live here.
Kaen: Screw the traditional style, babe, it's all about the now. If only the Seireitei can see that.
He said as he wiped his lip. He offered some of his sweets to Isawe.

Isawe: I don't usually enter your barracks. I tend to remain on the outside instead of coming in.
When he turned to her and offered some of the sweet, she kindly refused. Zoku had been steadily taking advantage of her kindness and using her as a guinea pig for his treats. So she had plenty within her barracks to spare. But none of her recruits seemed to have a problem with it. It was common for them to quickly beg that she not turn him down.
Isawe: No thankyou, Zoku sends plenty of his new pastries to my barracks. So I have hundreds to spare.
She glanced down at the floor. She was familiar with the heated floors, she was accustomed to them. The barracks was comfortable, yet not as advanced as her own. Due to the previous lieutenant being so generous, the 2nd Division was well of.
Isawe: The Seireitei is older then even we are. I doubt they will be changing any time soon.

Aha... That's true. Well as long as my barracks are like this, I'm cool with everything else. I already have the whole insides here looking like the real world's living spaces. I just got the floors done with the heaters and the doors are automatic.
Kaen sighed. The Seireitei was a very traditional place, but that's what Kaen hated about them. So what's why he's called "The Rebel of his Era" because of him living and thinking in a different time period.
It isn't advanced as your barracks at least not yet. I almost killed through all the cash I had in my bank to do this so I gotta settle for this for now. When I save up again, y'know who's going to do some more remodeling. Heh... At least my room and office is more up-to-date than the whole thing.
This was the only thing Kaen was selfish about, his room. There, he kept all the latest tech there, from little gadgets, computers, TV, and sound system. Kaen's office was his own personal media center. Kaen
So, Isa-babe, is this all you came for? If ya want, I can get one of these bums to show you 'round. Or do you want me?
He asked flashing a cool smile. But the two previous Shinigami returned with the CD of the classical music. Kaen gave them the sweets box to hold as he took the CD and snapped it in two. He returned the broken CD.
Garbage. And share that with the rest you fellas.
The shinigami ran off again.

Isawe: Well I certainly wouldn't want competition, even if you emptied out your banking account.
As a captain she found herself commonly expecting those to one day exceed her. But she by expecting it, didn't mean she had to like it. And by being competitive, she welcomed a challenge. She looked back at the shinigami and exhaled.
Isawe: A personal tour would be fitting only from the captain himself. I'm sure you're the only one with the best commentary at that.
Once the shinigami had taken their leave, she returned her gaze to him.
Isawe:A rebel indeed

Yo, it ain't a competition-like thing going on. I'm just saying that I'll have more tech stuff going on down here for my shinigami to work with. Besides, I'll advance along with the real world.
Kaen's obsession was showing...
Haha... So it's the commentary ya want. Alright, then Isa-babe, follow me.
He smiled at her, waving his arm to gesture to follow him as he turned his back.

She chuckled. Though he had insisted that wasn't the case, she was slightly hopeful. Slightly wanting a bit of competition to rival her. Without competition, she at times felt she had nothing better to do. The soul society at the time was at peace... leaving her to wait and hone her skills until chaos returned. Looking up to him, she nodded.
Isawe: If you insist. But yes, I wouldn't mind you showing me around the barracks

You might already know this but our main priority here is security. We're the ones to call up when any o' ya need back up or something. But that ain't our only job. We also in charge o' the Media and Publicity. That means we're also in charge o' the magazine, Seireitei Communication.
As Kaen walked, the Captain haori around his waist flowed behind him. The tour began...

The first room they came to was to a large room to the right, it was the editing department, where the magazine gets it final touches. He showed her the printing press where the magazine gets printed and stacked, the archives where previous issues are stored, and the shipping bay where it gets shipped out. Apparently the magazines are all shipped out by the fastest Shinigami in the Division, save for Kaen.
We just shipped out the latest issue but we always keep a whole bunch to throw in the archives.
The tour continued to the inner parts of the barracks. There was the training hall on one side and then a beautiful courtyard in the center.
Yo, I know I don't look it, but I know how to appreciate nature.
He said to Isawe, just in case she was thinking anything otherwise. Kaen may not look it, but he's the one who takes care of the courtyard. There was even a little area where Kaen took his naps. After that, Kaen showed her the living arrangements here, they were actually very luxurious; the rooms had soft beds, computers, and mini-fridges. If anyone requested it to have something added, Kaen would most likely let it slide. Because he's rarely shows his serious side, he'd let them stay in there rooms all day if they wanted. But then he'd fine that one lazy Shinigami and have then run errands for him like do the dreaded paperwork. But still, he cares for his Shinigami's needs and tries to provide for them if he can. There was one more place before the end of the tour.
And here's where I do my own thing.
Kaen lead Isawe to the most inner area of the barracks. It was Kaen's room and office which was fairly large, almost like living room size. It had various shelves that were occupied by miscellaneous human world items. An entertainment center here, a flat screen TV there, and a whole lot more real world gadgets. The overall style and design of his rooms were definitely Kaen-like and human worldly.

(Lol I couldn't think of anything more to say so use your imagination and think "advanced and high tech" for Kaen's room and office.)

So, what'dya think?
He asked her. He was obviously really proud on how the place turned out so far as he grinned at her.

Isawe quietly followed his lead at his side, looking over the areas of the 9th Division Barracks he had shown to her. The majority of the barracks was impressive indeed. She hadn't really processed how much work had gone into it. And moreover, she didn't expect him to even have a place for nature itself.
Isawe: Thats a surprise... Kaen, having affection for the oldest piece of earth.
She only meant it as a tease, since he claimed to want nothing to do with anything old fashioned. The tour continued on until it finally came to an end. She was impressed, Kaen had done a wonderful job at up keeping his own barracks at his own expense.
Isawe: I can see you put a lot of work into your division. It much like you, advanced and rebellious. I can take it you fancy the human world a lot, mainly for its modern age.

Yo, yo yo, nature ain't old-fashioned. Nature is timeless.
Kaen responded to Isawe's comment on his courtyard.
Yo, the human world is freakin' awesome, babe. Their stuff's got nothing on the Seireitei's junk.
He flashed another smile while putting him hand on the back of his head and another in his pocket. Anyone who knew him knew that Kaen of absolutely obsessed with anything that has to do with the human world and Kaen was proud of it!
Reminds me I didn't make any trips there this week 'cause of renovations. Well anyway, How you been doing Isa?
