Im going to have to watch this series in proper order once its all done... like I did with Haruhi. Though I do like that its so random and screwy being aired out of order.

It probably helps on your confusion if I tell you that this show is airing out of order, like the Haruhi anime did.

Someone suggested that the current order of episodes is:

7 > 5 > 6 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 4

I don't think the episodes are being aired out of order, I believe they were intentionally made that way. Think of it as the anime version of Memento. Even though each arc comes before the previous in the timeline, the arcs build on each other. Or at least, that's my impression of things.

I'm guessing the last episodes will explain the fairies.

To copy someone else's post:

she meets the assistant (eps 7,8,?) > incident with the drones (eps 5,6) > hair cut short as punishment (ep 6) > magic hair regrowth and yaoi (eps 1-4)

Not sure how your idea of it being an anime version of Memento works at all.

The chronology you posted essentially works.

Early --> Later
[7,8] [5,6] [1,2,3,4]

Based on my assumption, the next arc 9&10 will be before 7&8.

The anime is great and i see the story chronology normal.

The past 4 episodes are prequel to episode 1-2 . The story how our main character got her hair cut and then how they got the " Assistant".I think the first 2 episodes are the best ones to introduce this wacky dark humored anime.

Episode 8 , That time paradox story was just weird funny and very interesting

I really like the work of the seiyuu Mae Nakahara with her character . .She is also currently Juvia in Fairy Tails. The Assistant is actually Jun Fukuyama , my favorite even though his character only spoke once and said " Time Paradog" ha ha ha not to mention Jun is a main character in 3 other anime this quarter alone .

All these complaints about the order of episodes. Next I suppose you'll have Quinten Tarantino re-cut all his films so that everything happens in strict chronological order.

My only big complaint about the anime is how absolutely laissez faire the cast is about what has been repeatedly pointed out as the steady decline and impending extinction of humanity in that anime, particularly with regard to actually doing anything about it besides seemingly being content to idle away their lives under the fairies until the end comes.

This makes me especially more suspicious about the actual nature of the fairies than anything else in the anime short of their as-yet entirely unexplained origins or the cause of humanity's decline to begin with.

Anyone who had studied history can tell you that even during the worst events in human history(i.e. Bubonic Plague) humans still breed like rabbits. So unless the entire world by that point somehow universally adopted modern Japan's outlook on reproduction, I still don't see how humanity could be declining short of something suppressing it - which the fairies are entirely capable of. Particularly when it has been established that the world still has some sort of functioning governing bodies and established population centers(as the anime has clearly stated that there is a UN, and the humans live in seemingly self-sufficient villages at least).

Or...maybe I'm over analyzing it from a scientific standpoint, and should go back to a more "fairies are in this anime therefore you shouldn't think too hard" standpoint, like the characters clearly have.

Well there goes that theory. :)

I loved episode 9, though I was surprised that it was a stand-alone compared to the other arcs.
