Makes you look like a pedophile though) ) Any ways,I usually talk to many people at the same time,so I just try to keep on with what people are saying rather then foreseeing their thoughts in their eyes...Or I tend to sometimes stare at objects while listening..I feel like it helps me understand( I need to do more than 1 thing at a time or I start thinking to hard and lose my train of thoughts ) ...

I was born with extremely poor vision, so unless someone is right in my face, I can't really focus on a specific area - like their eyes. It takes effort for me just to remember to look at people's faces when i'm talking to them. This is because it is a habit of mine to turn my ear toward someone to better hear what they're saying (but doing so causes me to appear as though I'm gazing off at nothing lol). To some people I have no doubt that it appears somewhat disrespectful, but I'm an extremely good listener, and people tend to pick up on that really quickly even if i don't make eye contact. Moral of the story? I think eye contact isn't really that important, but being respectful is. But for most people, I think being respectful probably requires eye contact. Although i can't say for sure.

	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 7/4/12 very awkward moment for me if I walk in the mall, especially by the food court towards to exit, all eyes are on me as if they've not seen an asian person before. On topic: If I have conversation with someone in particular, I have this habit of looking away from the person, like at his/her right blind spot and the left, etc.

	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 7/4/12, edited 7/5/12 I get that a lot of the time. People say why I'm not looking them in the eye. Unless it's natural it feels like a drag and the person I'm looking at probably senses my forced eye contact and get unsettled. So I change. I have that moment of thinking to myself and not looking then looking back. Really just do what you want unless the person demands and feels really upset that you're not looking them in the eye. But some people I see no good in looking them in the eye. So I don't. They may be a shy person or they may seem too volatile and if I could prevent a situation then I don't mind looking away.

Well... I'm not really used to looking in bright blue eyes though... Most of my family has brown eyes. And I looked into my cousins bright pale blue eyes, and I felt somewhat nervous from just looking at them.
