Hmmm how to put this...

Eye contact for me is like my secret hidden jutsu. Ever since I was small I always felt, almost violated when someone looked at me directly in the eyes. Like they could see all my secrets or something. So as I got older I realized that I have a really intense stare so I started using it to my advantage. When I really want to get a point across, whether it's my sincerity, my affection, or anger I fix them with my "deer in the headlights jutsu." (Dear in the headlights because a boy in eighth grade told me that is what my eyes reminded him of.) It works like a charm but if I over use it I become exhausted and lose energy.

I can look my friends in the eye when I talk to them, and if I am talking to a stranger that is guy, it is not so hard, but if I am talking to a girl I do not know, I have an extremely hard time looking them in the eye, I always look away like I heard something behind me, or I just look at the floor..........I try to keep eye contact... but... I am too shy....

I do eye contact, but probably to the point where it freaks people out.

I was taught in Elementary school that it is common courtesy to look your speaker in the eye when having a conversation; it shows you are paying attention. I've followed this rule for so long that I often get scolded by my parents to stop staring at them with a dead look because it freaks them out. I'm just trying to show that I am paying attention, but apparently it looks like I'm trying to intimidate people or I'm not listening at all.

Now I have the new issue of: Do I look you in the eye? For how long? Should I make a certain facial expression when maintaining eye contacOHGODSOMEONEHELPME

I rarely pay attention anyway -__- but my ears are working even if I'm not looking at you.

eye contact for longer than six seconds is a sign of sexual desire or desire for murder, according to some random ass study im somehow stumbled upon at work the other day

I read something like this as well. However I've always been taught that when you're talking to someone you should be looking them in the eyes. It kind of bothers me when I'm having a serious discussion with someone and they refuse to do it.

passie murder. theyre planning on making it look like a suicide haha

I can't think of anything better looking

It's like this,
You look at them but if you see they make eye contact with you look away for a little bit and if the convocation is over a min u can look back and repeat.
if you keep looking at them into the eye its the same as glaring or staring which is consider rude.

Also in certain culture if you look at a person older then you in the eye its disrespectful.

I make eye contract if I remember to. most the time if I talk to someone it's when we are walking side by side.

It's not something you should think about as it's the polite thing to do when talking and I've practically been taught this since birth.

People who look over your head or at the floor when talking to you is irritating as they are NOT supposed to be talking to the wall or floor -.-

I don't care how shy you are- I'm extremely shy myself but you should always remember manners x.x

Today a lady came up to me, right up in my face! Stared me in the eyes. And said, "I like your hair!"
I said, "Thank you, I like your eyes!"
Now we're bro's.

Since I have an ugly face with especially ugly eyes, I avoid eye contact as much as possible.

Ugh, I should be honest on this one right? I mostly avoid it. I can do it sometimes but not much. It is nothing particular about it. I just havn't met any people I would do that to yet. Still unsecure and shy...
