My dad came to pick us up yesterday and I was still asking him to stay 10 min longer to talk with friends we had made even though the convention had ended..He said no.:(

chinabean 27528 cr points Send Message: 24 / M / burning embers Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/19/12 Animegacon was my first convention ever and I got back home this morning..as I was driving away from vegas I just started feeling overwhelmed with sadness like I felt like I didn't want to leave yet as I was just having fun and got to meet Victoria(sailorbee) and Linda(vampy) and charlie from Jlist, etc. Felt like I was missing something in my life and I teared up a little and oddly enough my little cousin(19) who I took with me was feeling the exact same way. I have never been so happy for so long and now I just wanted to get more involved and continue making new friends who share the same mutual interests than wasting my time on other nonsense.

Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 8/20/12 I feel a sense of sadness because the atmosphere of everything being anime and anime related is gone and also my wallet has butterflies in it from it being used so much.......but well worth it! lol Also it just gets me pumped to go to another one because I know how much fun you can have there

I went to the Anime Expo at the Convention Center last month and I payed for 2 of my friends. I wasn't able to find anyone who wanted to go and it was the only way. I bought two 2 day passes last minute and spend $120. Not to mention the food and drinks. We also ended up sneaking another friend in lol But I loved it. Took plenty of pictures, had a couple beers, and walked around buzzed. lol

faeriepop 307 cr points Send Message: F / Isle of Skye Offline	Permalink Reply Quote Posted 10/23/12 I usually feel ridiculously under-whelmed. :l When I go to convention, I usually go with my friends -- who can be a bit stuck up, making it difficult to actually talk to other people. But I guess it`s also my fault, since I would rather be in the safety net of my circle of friends than get out of my comfort zone to try to talk to new people. I feel a yearning for something exciting to happen, but I always end up with empty pockets from the merchandise and Ramune I always buy. My most fun con experience was at the 2nd day for Florida Supercon in 2009 because me and another good friend of mine actually had a legitimate conversation with someone outside of our social circle (and he wasn`t a creep either). My last con was also at Florida Supercon in 2011, and I actually got to meet the band "Lemon Dropkick", mostly because me and my friends were waiting for our ride until midnight and they thought the bassist of the band was cute.

Ha! seriously, I do feel that, because after a marathon weekend of moving, shaking, up, down, etc., this old man needs a nap. Big time. But it is an odd mix of emotions. Happy, because I got to be with people who love what I love, meet and talk to people who work to bring me what I love, and I get to explore things I love on a deeper level, as well as learn about new things to love. Sad, because like many of you have said, because its over. Because after the whirlwind weekend of exploring fantasies, imaginations, seeing people have a great time, and basically living the dream of fans in a welcome environment, I must return to the everyday and ordinary life of a working adult. A regular life where I when I get excited about some new Anime or Manga, I usually keep it to myself because outside of places like CR, I don't have a close network of friends who enjoy it like I do. If you have that, embrace and enjoy it. I envy you.
