Is this directed at me and my picture because I'm not sure if it is? If it is directed at me try using quote on the response so I know you are responding to my post it makes things a little less confusing. Anyway how do you get evil empire out of my picture?

not directed at you in anyway. It's just the ones I watch we Americans are portrayed as not the greatest people ever.

At least Americans do get portrayed in Anime

Canadians in anime are few and far between.

I can only think of 3. Canada from Hetalia, Anne of Green Gables and Jody Rockwell

The portrayal of some Americans in Space Brothers is absolutely hilarious... especially Hibito's substitute. I love how he gets all excited to learn Japanese phrases... the scene where Mutta writes down "yoroshiku" and tells him it is the coolest phrase in Japan and that it would make a great T-shirt is hilarious. It's not too far off though... just like when people get kanji characters as tattoos even when they don't know the meanings. Ironically, it is kind of similar in Japan. Even though I lived there for awhile and speak fluent Japanese, I can probably count the number of people that didn't first attempt to speak to me in English (no matter how terribly) on one hand (having blonde hair and blue eyes probably didn't help on that account). Even after knowing that I spoke Japanese, a lot of people (particularly in metropolitan areas... the stores in Shibuya in Tokyo were a big one) were more excited to try speaking English with me regardless of the difficulty than having an easy conversation in Japanese. So, in that regard, it's a mutual stereotype. Non-asians also stereotype asian people as well... while anime might portray most Americans as blonde haired and blue eyed, I don't believe there is a non-asian version of alllooksame.com /shrug

1. They kiss mouth to mouth or to cheek as if it's nothing - If you're dating, it kinda comes with the deal, right? Right.

2. They all have blonde hair and blue eyes - Think about the ideal-looking American woman. Blonde-haired, blue-eyed, big-boobed... Retarded, basically.

3. They are all loud or obnoxious - I don't think I can go three minutes without witnessing this one first-hand...

4. They are messy - As much as I hate to agree, well, most of us can be pretty bad slobs. I'd like to take the high road but I, too, have my moments.

5. They are exhibitionists (they don't care about being seen naked or what-not) - Really? I've yet to see this one in anime. The naked part. But exhibitionism doesn't necessarily mean you like being seen naked. Usually, you just want to be watched while you do something.. Like on Youtube...

6. They all have guns and they all know how to use one - If you're a Southerner, maybe. But I know that we Americans do like our gats. But whether or not we know how to use them...

Sadly, my fellow Americans, stereotypes always have an origin.

They're not all bad stereotypes either. For the most part it's just the matter of taking a joke. As they say about being able to laugh about yourself...

And then there's the times you'll run into a series where Americans are portrayed as kinda cool. Take Muv-luv for instance - Americans (not the Japanese for once) developed the original giant robots and continue to make more that help save humanity, selling many of them to other countries too. And then there's this guy.... undoubtedly "the best mabu-rabu": http://muvluv.wikia.com/wiki/Alfred_Walken

Though, I'd be lying if I said the series portrays Americans as always being so good: http://muvluv.wikia.com/wiki/AMERICA

The thing that makes me laugh is that most of the time when I see an american stereotype (blonde hair, blue eyes, arrogant) I think of Nazi Germany more so then america. Loud, arrogant, trying to destroy something, etc lol
