Americans Portrayed In Anime
|
Haha I think of Bandit Keith lol. But this sorta thing happens in all mediums, I mean, cartoons in America make fun and cheap shots at Canada sometimes. And usually portray Japanese or rather Asian peeps as overly polite but also very strict. I enjoy watching Americans portrayed in anime though, like the 3 stooges in Squid Girl haha, or Bandit Keith in Yugioh..

You are free to sever the chains of fate... That bind you.

I've noticed black guys are always portrayed as big and threatening with weird lips.
Oh yeah, and with a strange voice. Anyone see the video with the Japanese dub of a black guy sounding like a wimpy white kid? It's hilarious. |

Why do almost all anime characters look like westerners anyway? Westerners that live in Japan and speak Japanese.. wtf? Mukokuseki, it's a thing |

My favorite American was in the Steins Gate special.
It's an airport official and it is obviously not a native speaker but it ends up sounding like a Swedish person speaking broken English. |

That was too close, you were almost a Jill Sandwich.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtzlKJ1dObU This is the worst American ever in anime its just ridicoulous that after 100s of years the Japanese still portray us so crazily but hey what can you do with a group of xenophobic people huh?

I'm now reminded of Dan from Guilty Crown and how he was a big, blond, blue eyed bear of a man who gave out nicknames indiscriminately and despite working for the bad guys had a sense of right and wrong. also GUTS!

For girls;
blonde hair, blue eyes, "high and mighty" attitude, big chest area, annoying laugh/voice, rich, speaking bad english (applies for both genders- exception: Hayate no Gotoku- Can't take my eyes off you), (very) white skinned, "beautiful", tsundere, dislike japanese culture or put it down (exception: Patricia "Patty" Martin, Lucky*Star), the kissing, intelligence is either very high or extremely low, tall. For guys... all that really come to mind are the "foreigners" that speak bad english (as stated above) and ask for directions, or the fat ones. ...and America from Hetalia... |

Aliens? Time-Travelers? ESPers? Count me out...

I feel like calling you TripleBeefCakes for some reason... sorry about that random thought. Anyway, for girls that's pretty much the standard (sort of). |

Nothing random is insignificant. |

Does that rule still apply if the American happens to be a gun? |
|
All for none and none for all
|
|
|
... all the guns in Upotte are stereotyped. Galils the best one |
