In the episode with hanabi on the beach it looked like fireworks or beverage cans had that brand name but I don't know if that had any significance. Natsuyuki is a Japanese first name it seems but is uncommon and the word doesn't show up in my IME or dictionary. A gardening meaning thus seems to be the best fit. Thanks for looking it up.

The brand name on the beer cans was "Summer Snow" which, obviously, is a play on Shimao's plant. |

observantzani wrote: I've always wondered why Natsuyuki aka snow-in-summer was the flower used in the title. I'm pretty sure it has a huge significance considering it was the seeds that Shimao left behind for Rokka. So I decided to search the flower meaning but ultimately failed. Although I found an interesting line from this site. Snow In Summer is common in rock gardens, and as a ground cover. Many people also use it as border edgings, or along sidewalks. Because it can be invasive, you may have to control the spread of this plant, if you grow it in your flower garden along with other flowers. Shimao is that very Natsuyki. He needs to be controlled so the other flowers may grow, which is referring to Hazuki. Hahahaha, or maybe I'm just reading into the meanngs a little too much. But I would love to hear your opinions on this! Thats a nice piece of info. gracie. I have been paying attention to flowers, ornamental grasses and ground covers since I am in the process of redoing the front yard. I actually kept thinking about this anime when I plan the plants to use and how to use them ha ha ha.And I was at the farmers market yesterday and a garden Nursery was there selling Snow in Summer ground cover and I actually like it. So It will be my ...Natsuyuki Rendevous inspired garden minus the ghost .....ha ha |

Just from what I've watched and read, this show has done great a job at evoking strong emotional reactions out of people. Can't ask for much more from a great anime than that.

It is a good show but lets be honest...the last three episodes have been very slow...it better start picking up on the next episode..from my understanding..there are only 2 episodes left. :/

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Now we know what the eating his bones part meant, reference to her mother's story. So, will she and if she does, will she die for him? That is an ending I hadn't considered. Just two left? This will need to wrap up fast. |

Episode 10 It's hard to say for me whether to like this show by this point with only one episode left to air. The latest episode continues on with Rokka's being sort of stuck on who she will truly love, her ghost husband (now in Hazuki's body) or the real Hazuki-kun. Based on her thoughts in the final moments, I wonder who she will really choose at the end. I have to say that the pacing is a bit slow in this latter half so far and too much focus on Shimao. The latest episode especially focused a lot more on them but ultimately, I hope next week's series finale will wrap things up on a good note for the viewers. |

Could end on a good note or bad one... Shimao mentioned my thought there...
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide He could kill Rokka - chan to take her to the grave with him and leave Hazuki with the murder charge. |

I've really enjoyed the series up to this point. And I have to strongly disagree that the last few episodes have been slow. This isn't an adventure story, it is a war of wills. As we've gone along, we've learned more about everyone involved and truly gotten to know how desperate and dangerous Shimao is. Hazuki knows that he's the only one that can save Rokka and himself, but how will he do it? I'm really looking forward to seeing the resolution next episode.

I guess I didn't realize that next week's episode is going to be the last. @hpulley, I had the same thought about a possible bad ending. I also think Hazuki's trip so far has also include a lot of self discovery. Next week can't come fast enough.

One thing is for sure with these past few episodes - Shimao needs to stop being a selfish prick and move on already. He now officially annoys me. I still think that the ending will be worth it, but I will classify this anime as a disappointment if he either A- takes over Hazuki's body for good or B- follows through with killing Rokka in Hazuki's body. Somehow I don't think either will happen though.
