I'd love to know why Tales of Vesperia was only released in the US on the 360 but not on the PS3? Is it taking a really long time for all the extra content to be put in? Has Namco decided not to release it for the PS3? Or is it something else all together? I know fans, myself included have wanted it to come out.
I was looking forward to playing since I played Tales of Symponia, but now it seems like I'll never get to play it and I don't have the money to get a 360. Does anyone know anything about it? I'm just wondering if they actually plan to release it or is it a lost cause? http://www.crunchyroll.com/library/Tales_of_Vesperia (This is a link to it here on CR, but I can't seem to find anything that mentions it defiantly being released for PS3 or not.) |

It would be kind of late to try and release Vesperia on the PS3 now. There's not really a definite answer as to why it wont be on PS3 some people say it's because Microsoft paid to have it exclusively released on 360. I don't know if that's true or not Namco Bandai denies it but it's not like they would actually admit to it any way.

Well for some things, late is better than never. I'm just kinda bummed I'll never get to play it. I used to have a 360, but it got the red ring of death. So that's when we got a PS3 and it hasn't given us any issues since we bought it. I guess in the back of my mind I figured they might get around to it or they might be pulling a Final Fantasy move where games only come out every 5 or 6 years, whenever they felt like it pretty much.

The first was that Namco Bandai didn't want to pay licensing fees for content like the Sgt. Frog costume. Later they said that it wouldn't come to the states because a deal with Microsoft stated the game was to remain a 360 exclusive in the west. And recently they said it was because Namco Bandai of Japan never responded to the western branch's requests for the files needed. |

Not necessarily, if you don't mind not understanding the language, or are willing to learn the language, then you can just import a copy of the game (The PS3 is region free) |

If I were to import a copy from Japan, would it work on my PS3?
I wouldn't want to get it if it won't work on my PS3. |

It looks like there's another awesome game that I won't get to play. Thanks for the information though. the reason rather was explained by said company in a interveiw, kinda hard to find now but basically, namco bandai NA division feels that JRPGs are die-ing in the US(sadly it is with all the love on FPS nowadays), and tales itself isnt a big name rpg as many would think it is(in the states anyway) so they were iffy about the release of any new games in the series to be released here. however due to hundreds of petitions and emails they decided to test the waters with graces F, which did well, and now with xilla, if all goes well they might consider vesperia, also microsofts exclusive deal had the same conditions on both sides, or in other words, that had nothing to do with it. |

Yes it will, as I said before, the PS3 is region free, it can play any game regardless of where the game was bought. I've personally downloaded a lot of demos from the Japanese PSN store, and they all played fine, |

Because this is Bamco were talking about.
You would sooner have the world end that wait for them to localize the only GOOD games they do have. |
